** CUBA [and non]. 7320, Oct 9 at 0516, big open carrier, and then just-barely-modulated spy numbers alternating with digital bursts. Also barely audible underneath is R. Rossii, which normally has no such QRM. At 0531, still JBM only with longer 5-digit number strings. New frequency for this? RHC itself never uses the 7 MHz band as an international law-abiding station (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 560, Oct 9 at 1200 UT, super-hype voice actor (SHVA) with full ID for XESRD, preceded and followed by gobierno PSAs. Cantú:
560 XESRD La Tremenda +FM 89.3 Santiago Papasquiaro, Dgo. 10,000 1,000
Also CCI from another XE further to the east/south, but nothing from El Norte (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 700, Oct 9 at 1223 UT, adstring mentioning Parral, 1225 dead air with hum slightly growing, which lasts until it finally comes to life again at 1231.5 with more ads, starting to fade; 1234 live announcer discussing béisbol, timecheck, mentions an FM on .3; Cantú:
700 XEGD La Poderosa + FM 90.3 Hidalgo del Parral, Chih. 5,000 1,000
and no doubt the same station as logged several times before on 700 with hummy dead air (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 980, Oct 9 at 1215 UT, competing with KMBZ, I hear ``radio Rosita`` mentioned, tho unlikely a station name, points to XENR in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila. Strangely, Cantú locates it in a nearby town:
980 XENR Radio 980 Melchor Múzquiz, Coah. 5,000 500
[Cantú is unreliable for accents; I had to add the ú as per maps]
But IRCA Mexican Log 2012 and WRTH 2013 put it in Nueva Rosita. At least they all agree on the powers. Another town nearby is Sabinas (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** SUDAN [non]. 15400, Oct 9 at 0509, Arabic from R. Dabanga atop continuous tone jammer; poor signal, 250 kW 335 degrees from MADAGASCAR but had not been propagating lately.
15550, Oct 9 at 0509, R. Dabanga also audible here and // seems synchronized, but this is 500 kW, 240 degrees from UAE, and not often heard at all here so far off the beam. About same level as 15400, and no jamming audible on 15550.
At same time, 15580 VOA via Botswana also audible, and much stronger 15275 DW via Rwanda. But nothing on 15120 from Nigeria or 15190 from Equatorial Guinea (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 5830, Oct 9 at 1152, open carrier/dead air from WTWW SFAW service; still/again OC/DA after frequency change to 9479 at 1302 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
This report dispatched at 1452 UT October 9
