** ALBANIA. 9855-, July 19 at 2331 check, R. Tirana Albanian hour is still
humroaring atop the talk. Likewise the English service at 0144 check July 20 on
9855-; unusable, but at least on the air instead of missing last night. Others
have confirmed the intervening broadcasts on the air but still defective (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BRAZIL. 6180.02, July 20 at 0145, RNA
is back in whack, normal VG signal, and no blobbing away around 6205, as was the
case 20 hours earlier (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BRAZIL.
11815.0, July 20 at 0150, S4 signal enough to be listenable, except there is no
modulation to be heard from R. Brasil Central, Goiânia, Goiás, except for some
hum (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. 10140-10150, July
20 at 0210, Cuban-style pulse jamming is S8 in the middle of the 30m hamband ---
or is it some masquerading digital mode? 10145 does not work out to be a
leapfrog mixing product between jammers and RHC frequencies on 31m, so perhaps a
stray (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO
1834 monitoring: not confirmed Tuesday July 19 at 2330 on 9330v-CUSB since WBCQ
appears to be off the air (7490v-AM however is audible, poorly). Next:
Wed
1315.5 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Wed 2100 WBCQ 7490v to WSW
Wed 2330 WBCQ
9330v-CUSB to WSW

** U S A.
11580, UT Wed July 19 at 0152, surprised to hear WRMI repeating last weekend`s
PCJ Radio International special from the Radio Nederland archives, familiar
segment with Eddy Startz concluding interview by Tom Meijer, mentioning his wife
had recently died, poem abut the charm of shortwave, song he composed; then
about a Happy Station song on a 7-inch record, composed by listener Mary
O`Higgins in Ireland, and sung by Tom --- but interrupted at 0159 for the spot
commercial by the Smart Money Guy; 0200 on to `Word of Deliverance`, which is
now scheduled 7-daily at 0200-0300. Preceding it at 0100-0200 UT Weds is Media
Network Plus, but only one hour cannot contain the 2-hour PCJ special (which BTW
also got a surprise prepeat 24 hours earlier than publicized time on 7570)

** U S A. 12105, July 19 at 2332
check, WTWW-3 is on in Yoruba this time, very good. By 0146 recheck July 20,
it`s faded to barely audible, but enough to tell it`s in SFAWnglish.
5085, UT Wed July 20 at 0146, WTWW-2 is still OFF, during the weekly
hour when Ted had been rerunning his QSO show to compete with Amateur Radio
Roundtable on 5129.89-AM WBCQ, which at 0200 I find to be S8-S9 vying with the
noise level (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. Very
cursory check for live coverage of the Republican National Unconvention, July 20
circa 0219 UT. This was just after a speech by Adam Trump. 1520 KOKC had it from
CBS. 88.1 KWOU had it from NPR (but not KOSU --- gotta stick with that Crazy Spy
after 7 pm). On down MW, 1200 WOAI had it; 1120 KMOX, but not // KOKC; 1110 KFAB
from Fox News Radio; 560 KWTO was about it, during the Jim Bohannon Show. Many
other major stations stuck with stupid ballgames or regular talkshows. Of
course, if they were breaking for commercial when I went by, would have missed
it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 1680, July 20 at
0217 UT, ``More variety, more music, 99.7 MY-FM`` which is the new source and
slogan for 1680 KRJO Monroe LA. The WTFDA FM Database reveals that 99.7 is a
mere 250-watt translator, K259CU, but still gives an old slogan ``Classic
Country 1680``. Tail wagging the dog. Seems like the 10/1 kW signal is not as
good as it used to be; faded up, and then down as a talk station overtook,
presumably WPRR in Michigan.
How they get ``My`` out of K259CU is beyond
me; shouldn`t it be ``See You on the Radio``?? Seriously, has anyone ever found
a translator callsign (assigned sequentially) actually leading to or
coordinating with a station slogan?
As in DXLD 16-28: ``1680 KRJO drops
classic hits --- This item from DX-midAMerica: 1680 KRJO*LA Monroe switches to
Hot AC in // with 99.7 FM K259CU Monroe. New website http://997myfm.com/ Tosses Cl hits. Best wishes
(Barry :-) Davies, Carlisle UK, July 15, MWCircle yg via DXLD)``
On the
website we can find no mention of the existence of 1680 KRJO, even tho it is the
``primary`` station. At least this combo has programming distinct from some
other FM station (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
