Glenn Hauser logs July 13-14, 2016

** ALBANIA. 9854.95, July 14 at 0125, R. Tirana is STILL transmitting hum-roar well atop the interval signal. (Yes, I am playing the clear, vintage IS variations on WORLD OF RADIO 1834). (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** BRAZIL. 11815, July 14 at 0135 check, R. Brasil Central is gone again; so I check the other 25m frequencies, all heard: 11764.6, 11854.9, 11925.2 --- and

11934.52, Rádio RB2 is back on tonight, and drifted slightly lower, July 14 at 0136 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 4765, July 14 at 0131, I notice that R. Progreso is AWOL; normally on at 0030-0400v only. That explains why a few minutes earlier during bandscan I was not hearing the JBA 2X harmonic on 9530 either (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15230, July 13 at 1321, RHC is undermodulated as usual, compensating for // 15370 being overmodulated (Glenn Hausere, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SPAIN. 17855, July 14 at 1828, REE with some operatic music, what a pleasant change, but it doesn`t last long: either an excerpt or briefly picking up a live broadcast of I Puritani from the Teatro Real; cut off at 1830 for accurate timesignal, and time check as 8:30 (7:30 en Canarias), and onward with `24 Horas` news magazine (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SRI LANKA. 11905, July 14 at 0114, S1 carrier on noisy band from SLBC; music prélude starts about 0114:48 as usual; 2+1 mis-timesignal ends at 0115:17.5. They are so consistent in their inaccuracy. Would it be too much to ask for them to reset their reliable clock to real time? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1833 monitoring: confirmed Wednesday July 13 at 1315.5 on WRMI 9955, fair. Also confirmed Wed July 13 at 2100 on WBCQ webcast, following interjexion after the canned ID: ``ha ha ha ha``. Then checked 7489.9-AM and could only get a JBA carrier.

** U S A. 9395, 9955, 11530, 11580, July 13 at 0539 check, now at least these WRMI frequencies are back on the air, all of which were off during previous check as in last report: ``at 0224 UT July 13: OFF: 11580, 11530, 9955, 9395, 7780, 5985, 5765, 5015. ON: 7730, 7570, 6855, 5950``.

5015, July 14 at 0117, I notice that this 24-hour WRMIBS is S9+25, quite stronger than usual or before. Ivo Ivanov pointed out that a June 26 schedule update on the WRMI site shows 5015 is now WRMI-9 on 222 degree antenna, swapped with WRMI-1 which is now carrying the 24-hour 11580 service on 44-degree antenna.

A check of earlier in June HFCC schedules showed 5015 was on a 160-degree antenna (same as 9955), while 11580 was already 44 degrees (HFCC doesn`t keep track of individual transmitter numbers nor thus swappages.) Whatever the azimuth, one must wonder how far 5015 can go in the daytime? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 12105, July 13 at 1852 check, WTWW-3 is S9+10 open carrier, dead air; 9930 is off instead of Dave Ramsey Show; 9475 is nominal with SFAW.

12105, July 14 at 1826 check, 12105 is again open carrier/dead air; 9930 is off, and so is 9475! 9930 & 9475 still off at 1920 check.

9930 has been off for more than a week, and one must assume that the Dave Ramsey Show has been dropped, or more likely Ramsey dropped WTWW. At least we don`t have to run across a PI used-car salesman pushing SW radios within. Nor are we surprised that the homepage http://wtww.us/ still proclaims Ramsey is on at 1-4 pm CT (and not making clear it was weekdays only) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505vv, July 14 at 0110, WRNO is S9+25 with music, and carrier is still varying widely, either by itself or as Larry Thom is manually attempting to keep it on 7505.00? For example, listening with BFO on, 7505.7 slides down to 7504.92, then drifts up just above 7505, then down to 7504.92. Recheck at 0124 finds it on 7505.1 going to 7504.8; at 0140, 7505.13 to 7504.77 to 7504.90, etc., etc. Maybe on a wideband AM receiver this is not noticeable.

And Hansjoerg Biener in Germany has found on July 13 the other 7505 station not on the air so it can`t make a het with WRNO:

``Note: There was no interference from AIR Nepali. Jose Jacob http://www.qsl.net/vu2jos/160621
gives this schedule: 0130-0230 Nepali 7505(Ki) 9800(P) 11715(Kh) Nepal --- but AIR Nepali was not heard on any of these frequencies when checked at 0130, 0145 and 0200 h UTC. (Dr Hansjoerg Biener)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
