During the latter part of the 2000s, we broadcast regularly on shortwave via
transmitters around the globe. Since then, many international broadcasters have
discontinued broadcasting on the HF bands, as we did in 2007. Is there a future
for shortwave radio? We carried out a one-off two-hour shortwave broadcast on
Saturday 25th April 2015 and Saturday March 19th, 2016 from Roerbach in Germany.
We'd be grateful for your reception reports and will verify by e-QSL card or, if
you mail us one Euro or two US Dollars, we'll mail you a proper QSL card! All
reports received electronically t o date have been verified with eQSLs and
copies of Radio News.

Note time changes next weekend. Clocks change in many parts of the
world, and we continue to schedule our programmes using GMT/UTC which means that
UK listeners will find most of their favourite programmes start an hour earlier
from Sunday 29th october. However, there are some other changes. Soundwave will
swap places with The Lively Lounge at the weekend, so you'll now hear Soundwave
at 08:00 GMT (8am UK) on Saturdays (except this weekend when that translates to
9am UK); and 06:00 GMT (6am UK) and 21:00 GMT (9pm UK) on Sundays. Monday's
transmission remains at 19:00 GMT (7pm UK). The Lively Lounge moves to 09:00 GMT
(9am UK) Saturdays (except this week when it translates to 10am UK) and 07:00
GMT (7am UK) and 22:00 GMT (10pm UK) on Sundasy; Thursdays it remains at 06:00
GMT (6am UK).
Some splendid radio coming your way over the next few
weeks....guesting on the Tony Currie Show on Saturday is the legendary Petula
Clark who is currently touring the UK. On November 18th, the Lively Lounge will
include special guest Richard Niles talking about his new Bandzilla album on the
day of its release. And later that same weekend, on November 20th, we will once
again broadcast the Grand Final of this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest
live from Malta, and for the six days leading up to it we'll be live from the
radio six international studios in Malta with all the previews, news and gossip
about the Contest from our team on the spot. And stand by for some very exciting
news about this year's Record of the Year competition, the results of which will
be announced on December 25th. This year's voting panel will include some of the
very biggest names in the music business!
