** AUSTRALIA. 11590, March 29 at 1423, S Asian
song, good signal. HFCC shows this is the new English frequency from RBA,
1325-1530, 100 kW, 305 degrees from Kununurra; replaces 12115 which started at
1400. In B-14, 11590 was in S Asian languages only (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** CHINA. 13920, March 29 at 1324, Chinese drama, CNR1 jammer mixing with RTTY. No time for a full 12-18 MHz bandscan today (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also EAST TURKISTAN
** CUBA [non]. 13605, March 29 at 1322, Spanish and music, as R. Martí has jumped from 13820 to 13605 for A-15; no jamming here, but wall-of-noise still on 13820, faking out the DentroCuban Jamming Command which is too out of it just to consult HFCC. Here I excerpt RM for A-15:
5980 07-10
6030 00-12
7365 00-03
7405 03-07 & 12-14
9565 20-24
9805 10-13
11930 14-24
13605 13-20
Or in time order by the two Greenville transmitters:
00-12 6030, 12-14 7405, 14-24 11930
00-03 7365, 03-07 7405, 07-10 5980, 10-13 9805, 13-20 13605, 20-24 9565 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** EAST TURKISTAN. 17630, March 29 at 1418, CRI English, good signal, lite flutter, new for A-15. HFCC shows the ubiquitous 308 degree antenna, 500 kW from Urumqi for Europe at 12-15. But also registered is CRI English via Mali, 100 kW at 85 degrees, at 14-16. No sign of a second signal here! I bet some list-loggers will again assume this is Mali instead of East Turkistan (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** SPAIN. 17855, March 29 at 1416, VG signal in Castilian about Armenia, of all things. Obviously REE on unexpected frequency, and starting an hour earlier with DST in Europe, *1400 on weekends. Surely this is on a NAm antenna, a great improvement over 9620 which was completely non-funxional for a midday path. Finally they have studied a bit of Propagation 101! Confirmed source by // much weaker 15490. 17855 is in fact registered in HFCC A-15, but not at this hour: 16-24 Sat/Sun, 20-24 M-F, 200 kW(?? odd power), 290 degrees to CIRAFs 4, and 6-11 = all of contiguous USA, Canada east of Manitoba, all of Mexico, Central America, Caribbean. We had suspected the times in these Noblejas registrations were erroneous, CEST = UT +2, instead of UT, and this appears to confirm it. Transmissions should now end circa 2200 UT, not 2400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A [non]. 11990, March 29 at 1421, VOA Korean on new frequency, into music, good signal here, better than another new //, 11935 but which is not synchronized. HFCC A-15 shows:
11990 is 250 kW at 21 degrees from Tinang, PHILIPPINES at 12-15
11935 is 250 kW at 333 degrees from TINIAN at 13-15
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A [and non]. 5850, March 29 at 0553, very surprised to encounter ``radiogram`` beeping on this WRMI frequency, instead of TruNews, which continues on 7455 and 9395. 0554 followed by more melodic intoning, and synthetic voice announcement of address QSL@STFradio.com and postal address for Capibara Games Inc., in Toronto. More tones follow, 0559:30 cut to classic WRMI ID, 0600 into ME fill music (a CD Jeff picked up in Oman??) rather than back to TruNews. Signal VG as usual on this frequency.
Meanwhile, adjacent 5855 Cuban numbers transmitter was open carrier/dead air at 0553, by 0600 YL started voice numbers. It too would include `radiogram` digital modes. What companionship.
We had seen absolutely no advance publicity about another STF special broadcast, maybe started at 0500? Was it on WRMI`s Facebook where station news sometimes appears exclusively? NO.
Meanwhile, WRMI has made a number of schedule changes, and the new A-15 transmitter/frequency grid in UT is up at:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nEVwCMB9RSKowLzLXamyayVpCzjmPAw_SB1r3YOdzQc/edit?pli=1#gid=0
Among other things, note that 11580 and 15770 are no longer 24 hours, but still on partly with TOM and as previously with other programming, including WORLD OF RADIO Sunday at 2300 on 11580, Friday at 2130 on 15770 (also 7570).
Revised program schedule for 9955 presented in EDT = UT -4:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AivhtkIEGb3_dENObnZrMkt1YmtUWGxkbkd3TGNzOXc&hl=en#gid=0
9955 is off the air again at 1429 check March 29. The program sked shows TOM is still supposed to be on 9955 at 14-21! No mention of webcast only during the daytime; but the frequency sked does show a 9955 gap at 14-21 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A [and non]. 9840, March 29 at 1428, YL gospel huxter in English, poor signal made worse by het from perpetually off-frequency VIETNAM, as WHRI has never figured out this could be a problem; it registers 9840 available for very long hours (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** VATICAN [non]. 11890, March 29 at 1317, surprised to hear good signal with YL in Luso-Portuguese summarizing Pope`s Palm Sunday homily, interspersed with clips of the original in Italian. HFCC A-15 shows two Vatican Radio relays on 11890: 1228-1300 (Sat -1315) Chinese via Tinang, Philippines, and 1315-1400 daily in Vietnamese, due west from TINIAN, both USG facilities, violating Separation of Church and State; standard remarx. It should be hard to confuse Portuguese with Vietnamese! What possible target, really? Nothing but former colonies Timor, Macau, and Goa etc., in India?? Maybe a feed mixup.
From now thru `Holy Week` there are bound to be special VR broadcasts, but the Hitlist link and also found on the Listen menu at http://www.radiovaticana.va/en1/palin_ing.asp
namely:http://en.radiovaticana.va/trasm_spec.asp
is blank tho it loads. Other pages are 404 as apparently VR has revamped their website (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
