International Radio Serbia is marking its 74th anniversary. On that occasion, a ceremony was held today, attended by many eminent persons, embassy and media rerpesentatives, former and present employees of this radio, the only short-wave radio station in the country. Director Milorad Vujović spoke about the significance of the radio and future plans. This radio was formed six years before the VOA. It started broadcasting programmes on March 8, 1936, in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. It is broadcasting programmes in all parts of the world, in 12 languages: Serbian (for the diaspora), English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Greek, Albanian, Hungarian and Chinese.
