** CHINA [non]. 9580, May 27 at 0139, CRI relay via HABana is in Spanish instead of English! Talk about Colombian author Gabriel García Márquez and his appreciation ``aquí en China``. Adjacent Albania relay on 9570 remains in CRI English. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. 6165, May 27 at 0152, RHC is in Spanish // 6060 etc., instead of English whose separate music maintains on 6000. Recheck at 0612, 6165 is now in English // 6060 and 6000, while 6100 is off. Something`s always wrong at RHC. See also CHINA [non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. 9535, May 27 at 1430, S4-S8 of dead air, obviously RHC. 15230 likewise, May 27 at 1442, dead air or JBM at S9, while 11760 and 13700 are OK. 17730 is also on and VP with music matching 11760. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** NIGERIA. 7255-, May 27 at 0613, VON is off again (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6972-AM, May 27 at 0111, EZL music at S7-S5, 0120 more like jazz. The first of four active pirates I find bandscanning downward, and the weakest. They are out in force for the Memorial Day weekend. 0153, still weak music after some others have stopped. Also UNIDENTIFIED for this thread covering 0100-0230, but some getting a much stronger signal are impressed by the audio quality:

** NORTH AMERICA. 6950-USB, May 27 at 0113, pirate music at S9+5; 0125 SSTV, 0128 off. Suspected Wolverine Radio and so confirmed by numerous logs here ranging 0022-0125, including captures of the SSTV image:

** NORTH AMERICA. 6930-USB, May 27 at 0114, pirate music, soft jazz at S9+25, even stronger than 6950. 0119, this one emits SSTV, 0120 plays ``Ride of the Valkyries`` complete, 0125 segué to more triumphal classical music; 0127 ``Heard it on the Grapevine``. 0130 more SSTV; 0132 music resumes; 0136 SSTV to 0140, seems to go off, but back with more to 0142 and nothing further. Also unID here but with SSTV captures showing it`s pro-Confederacy:

** NORTH AMERICA. 6880-AM, May 27 at 0131, it`s John IDing for his ``VORW Radio International``, S5-S8 vs storm crashes, 0132 thanking pirate relay of his show last week on 6880 (so here it is again), greeting various reception reporters. Still on with VORW past 0154. It`s The Relay Station, which had been on as early as 2152 May 26 with other programming, and VORW from 0055:

including lots of SSTV images. TRS himself posted here:

[sic, unedited:] ``thanks gentleman !
i hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend !
i did my best to send out confirmation reports based on the time reported in this forum thread (https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,42699.0.html) from 5/19 to everyone i could obtain an email address from, i hope i didnt make any errors since i did each one individually.
for those of you that did not get the confirmation report for 5/19 and wish to have one, you can send me an email at shortwavepirate@aol.com and i will make you one.
tonight's shows will be two "Stasi" shows and one VORW show as requested by the producers who created them, thanks to you !
edit 1: (im not sure how well the SSTV will work through AM due to phase issues caused by fade but i guess we will see)
edit 2: im currently having some slight power issues, line voltage has been dropping below 240VAC, down to 200VAC several times and hovering around 210VAC, seems to be an issue with the 7.2KV supply to the step-down transformer, kind of annoying watching the power fluctuate all over the place on the ACV-RMS needle meter.
edit 3: props and hats off to powerhouse Wolverine Radio ;)

** PHILIPPINES. 9275, May 27 at 1325, poor S2-S3 signal in Chinese, first day for FEBC ex-9380, and weaker than that had been, maybe just daily variation if on exactly same parameters as would be expected. Lowest 9 MHz frequency ever for Bocaue? Could be transmitter/antenna not tuning up optimally. 9380 now returned to AIR Aligarh exclusively, but nothing audible now, despite the scheduled 1200*-*1305 break being over (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** UGANDA [non]. 9369.962, Sunday May 27 at 1326, new bigsig steady at S9+10 with African music, modulation slightly distorted, and occasional split-second dropouts; what in the world? Keeps going past 1400 with no announcements, let alone any ID. But it`s obviously WWRB reactivated on frequency last used for Brother Scare, and still registered available 13-24 UT, 100 kW at 45 degrees in English [sic], for CIRAF 4 and 9, i.e. Canada east of 90 degrees-west. Yeah, right where there are lots of Ugandans? This replaces 15240- which had not been heard for a few seeks, i.e. Radio Munansi. We had our doubts 15240 would reach Uganda, and even more so 9370 over a summer day-path, but it`s great into Oklahoma! Luganda talk finally starts at 1504. Music again at 1626 check. Note the offset of 9370- is very close to that of 15240- as previously measured. Presumably the only WWRB transmitter not demolished, so expect it Sat & Sun circa 1300-2100? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1931 monitoring: confirmed after 0200 UT Sunday May 27 on WRMI 7780, S9/S9+10 but only fair vs storm crashes. Also confirmed UT Sun May 27 at 0346 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, good S9+20, at Algeria/Antarctica --- oh, oh, that was last week`s #1930, at 1:23 into the file, not latest 1931. And 1931 did not air earlier, as ARRL was still running at 0326. Maybe it aired later? Should have checked, as WA0RCR was off last week for Hamvention, and playing 1931 now may have been a make-up for that. Next:
Sun 1900 WRMI 9395 to NNW
Mon 0130.5 WRMI 5850 to NW, 7780 to NE
Mon 0300v WBCQ 5130v Area 51 to WSW
Mon 0330 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Mon 0400 WRMI webcast only
Tue 0030 WRMI 7730 to WNW
Tue 2030 WRMI 7780 to NE, 5950 to WNW [or #1932?]
Tue 2130 WRMI 7780 to NE, 5950 to WNW [or #1932?]

** U S A. 5085, UT Sun May 27 at 0553, WTWW-2 is on with a talkshow, something new. Guest believes there are bases on the moon and aliens have visited earth. Could it be the Hoagland show revived? No. Host soon says he is on ``5085 and additional SW frequency tonight, 15815, which is just smoakin` in other countries, just blasting in``. (Not here! Nothing as you would expect in the nightmiddle on 19m from Tennessee; a different site, Bulgaria, maybe?).
Guest is named Glen and before ToH break program ID as `Southern Talk at Midnight` with Dave Lewis(?). 0559 commercial for CVS Pharmacy beauty club! Then to rambling ham radio ads by Ted until 0603 music; 0606:45 program resumes with guest Glen S-something who has a bunch of books to push, a longtime author about aliens around us. Again plugs 15815 & 5085, host address dave@wtww.us so this show may axually originate at WTWW. And gives phone for call-ins as 615-680-8028, as I tune out and go to sleep.
What`s about this at the WTWW website? NOTHING, of course, just long-outdated program info at
http://wtww.us/pages/schedule.php
and on the homepage itself, still claiming to use 9930 with Dave Ramsey, etc., etc. (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 15815, May 27 at 1439, however, *is* an unexpected and unregistered new frequency! for WTWW as IDed after ``In the Sweet Bye&Bye`` hymn, S9+20 = sporadic E boost, while neighbor 15825 WWCR is S9+20/30. Nothing in HFCC on 15815, not WTWW, not Bulgaria, not anything. Off at 1627 check and I think considerably earlier. John Figliozzi, NY was still hearing it at 1540, and Kai Ludwig, Germany at 1610, weaker than WWCR (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 15760, May 27 at 1627, here`s WHRI with special broadcast of the holy Indianapolis 500, during commercials with zoom SFX. Race was scheduled to start at *1619, an exercise in futility, round and round and getting nowhere; meanwhile drivers, crew and spectators risking death or injury, a great American tradition.
15760 is registered available 14-22 UT, Sat/Sun extended to 24, 250 kW, 315 degrees across the USA toward CIRAFs 2 & 3 = Canada west of 90 degrees. Not sure, but I don`t think they have been using it much if at all. Yesterday I searched the WHR website for any info about the anticipated special and found absolutely nothing (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 9370-, WWRB reactivated: see UGANDA [non]
UNIDENTIFIED. 9272.7-USB, May 27 at 0144, 2-way in Spanish, stronger one with noise and music in background (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
