** BRAZIL. 4885, Aug 27 at 0211, very poor carrier with talk. It`s been weeks
since either Brazilian has been detected, so one of them is evidently back,
probably not R. Clube do Pará, which when on had a much better signal than this.
Soon confirmed by Daniel Wyllyans, Mato Grosso, on HCDX that R. Dif. Acreana
celebrated its 71st anniversary on Aug 25 by reactivating their TB transmitter
on 4885, first reported by DFS in Japan with
as
of Aug 26 at 1053. Daniel was hearing it ``now``, 0100-0129 on 26 Aug,
presumably meaning UT 27 Aug. But he says there was QRM from Pará. Full report
in Portuguese, with photos, video:
So,
are they going to keep it on the air this time? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** BRAZIL. 11780.1, Aug 27 at 0231, RNA has wandered off
frequency again, BUT, no spurs heard in the usual spots (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** GREECE. 9935, Aug 27 at 0226, VOG is still off this
whining frequency, but on 9420 which is only poor now with music (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** IRAN. 9512.2, Aug 27 at 0227, very poor
carrier with flutter, presumed Zahedan, IRIB Arabic service scheduled 0030-0230
on 9510. Not much crap out of 9535 RHC tonight; I`ve tuned across this before
but didn`t think to precise the frequency until saw this tip from John Cooper,
PA in the NASWA Flashsheet:
``9511.5, IRAN. VOIRI-Zahedan, (T), at 0145,
on 21 Aug. The station is off frequency from its scheduled frequency of 9510. A
male speaker is talking in Arabic. There is a momentary break at 0147 followed
by more talk. Poor``
Very likely the same Zahedan transmitter for 9410 at
1700-0030, often reported off-frequency hetting Greece (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. Sporadic E TVDX opening Aug 26 continued
from previous report, UT:
1557 on 2, station with `Matutino Express`
still on video, but audio from a different one
1640 on 2, long
commercial, probably full infomercial for vacuum cleaner; finally fade out
around 1647
1815 on 2, algo again
1818 on 2, Info 7 bug in LR,
video only; 1828 with 1:27 clock below the Info 7 bug, i.e. Azteca-7 net,
probably XHTAU Tampico. Lasts several minutes longer
2315 on 2, weak CCI
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6950-USB, Aug
27 at 0202, pirate music, S9 level signal with ringing sounds; 0204 SF drama
audio with SFX; 0206 back to song; I leave the PL-880 on this with a semiear
while I keep bandscanning on the NRD-545, and missed an ID if there ever was
one; still going at 0232 with dramatic narration; and at 0251 tune-out. I can
depend on HF Underground guys for the IDs: numerous logs here, every one of them
from further east than I am, say it was XLR8:
(Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** OKLAHOMA. 1210, Aug 27 circa 0255 UT,
and anytime I check at night for the past several weeks, KGYN Guymon always with
a good signal in C&W, so obviously keeps running ND day pattern, 10 kW,
instead of westward protecting Philadelphia and Enid on the way (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** SUDAN. 7205, Aug 27 at 0246, Omdurman is back
on after missing last night, now with Qur`an, S9 peaks, avoided by hams (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 7405, Aug 27 by 0250, another
GB transmitter is on OC prior to taking over R. Martí at 0300. So I look for a
leapfrog from that over 7365 another 40 kHz lower on 7325; and indeed there is a
JBA carrier but can`t match any audio, as it would typically be mainly from the
further signal which is still dead air. HFCC shows no fundamental scheduled
around then on 7325 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) Cf VATICAN [non],
the 7425 leapfrog, 7305 over 7365

** U S A. 9330.1-CUSB, Aug 27 at 0222, WBCQ is back
on here, after curtailment to one hour a day, testing? `Allan Weiner Worldwide`
playback as he is talking about SAQ and the Alexanderson Alternator VLF tests
and coordinated ham activity on 7035, 14035, 3755 SSB, then on to mailbag.
Reduced carrier still on, but dead air when 9330 rechecked at 0246 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 3185, Aug 27 at 0208, no
signal from WWRB; because the transmitter is on 9370 late? No, that`s off too.
Only on 5050 with BS; 3185 still off at 0251 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** U S A. 5883.1 & 5895.23, Aug 27 at 0213, intermittent
parasitic spur carriers coming out of the 5890 WWCR transmitter. Can`t they make
them match?? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 880-CUSB,
Aug 27 at 0224 UT from E/W, sermon and outro as ``encore 2015`` on `Truth for
Life`. This IDs my unID of almost 24 hours earlier not as KLRE Arkansas, but as
KHAC Tse Bonito NM, the Christian Navajo station, when I did not think to detect
whether it was lacking any lower sideband which is the case now; quite an oddity
for the MW band, and not obvious with ordinary AM tuning. Also obvious that KHAC
keeps running 10 kW day power at night, non-direxional; no mere 430 watts, this!
Aug FCC LSR/LSS: 1230/0200 UT; Sept: 1300/0130 UT (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** VATICAN [non]. 7425, Aug 27 at 0220, VR in Spanish,
~S5, barely //able to 7305, i.e. the Greenville leapfrog mixing product of 7305
over 7365 R. Martí. Don`t expect to see 7425 appear on the VR sked (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also USA: 7325
** ZAMBIA. 5915, Aug
27 at 0241, weak OC with 1 kHz tone, heavy ACI from 5920 WHRI, no IS heard past
0245, altho Ron Howard replied from California:
``Hi Glenn, Aug 23, on
5915, at 0240 open carrier already on (usually can be heard as early as 0230);
0244 start of the distinctive African fish eagle IS (always enjoy hearing it, as
it's so different).
To hear a very clear audio, go to http://www.intervalsignals.net/index.htm
David
Kernick's wonderful website for interval signals. BTW - The African fish eagle
is the national bird of Zambia`` As I quote him on WORLD OF RADIO 1788 (Glenn
