** KOREA NORTH. 2850, Aug 15 at 1201, emphatic Korean talk, as the KCBS hi-MW outlet is making it thru very poorly a bit after sunrise here at 1149 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** KOREA NORTH [and non]. 3985, Aug 15 at 1213, Korean talk and noise jamming, i.e. Echo of Hope, from South to North; and 3912 same situation, i.e. Voice of the People, from South to North, all poor signals; the two JOZes also making it jamming-free on 3945 & 3925 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** KUWAIT. 21540, Aug 15 at 1315, fair signal in Arabic as R. Kuwait is rarely making it, SSOB with JBA sigs on 21640 Spain, 21505 Saudi. So the MUF is high enough but the LUHF is also high, as BSKSA not making it at all on 17615 or 17625, assuming those 500 kW transmitters are still on the air (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MALAYSIA. 9835, Aug 15 at 1232, after yesterday`s report from Ron Howard that this frequency was carrying Traxx FM programming, I am hoping to hear that in English, but it`s only Malay, fair signal squeezed by 9830 RTTY and 9840 Vietnam, mixture of W&M conversation, Qur`anish singing snippets, electronic sounds, pop music. 1300 time tone, can`t make out any ID, and into news. By 1307 back to music.
11665, Aug 15 at 1233, better signal than separate 9835, pop music, 1234 Malay announcement, ID as ``Radio-Television Malaysia``; 1300 news by YL about 2 seconds behind 9835 as the two have joined for news on the hour. 1308 mentions Suara Malaysia. By 1310 the two have split again, with 11665 talking about ``I Love Israel`` on Facebook; 1311 `Salaam Aleikum`` and into M&W duet, maybe in English.
Anyhow, Ron Howard relays word from Mauno Ritola earlier Aug 15 that Radio Klasik on 11665 and Traxx FM on 9835 were one-day anomalies on Aug 14; now back to normal, which means the back-to-Sarawak services altho I heard IDs for neither: 11665 with Wai FM, and 9835 with Sarawak FM. Of course, these aren`t FM at all but AM on HF (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 1650, Aug 15 at 0622 UT, dead air again from KYHN Sallisaw instead of `Red Eye Radio`, atop CCI from two or three other 1650s, not including Mexico City which still eludes me (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** PAPUA NEW GUINEA. 3385, Aug 15 at 1204, very poor with continuous talk past 1211 by one voice, presumably NBC News, sounds female, can`t tell if in English or Tok Pisin, R. East New Britain, Rabaul. No other PNG carriers audible, maybe already off (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** SOLOMON ISLANDS. 5020, Aug 15 until 1159:51.5* carrier autocutoff of SIBC; tuned in just in time after hearing the Micronesia 4755.5 carrier cutoff a minute or two earlier but not looking at my watch to time that one precisely (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 1680, Aug 15 at 0621 UT, ``Classic Country 16-80`` non-ID and music, loops NW/SE, CCI with financial advice from presumed KGED Fresno. So KRJO Monroe LA is back on the air after several weeks` hiatus. Classic Country was its previous identity as early as Sept 24, 2013, when I logged it, a change made after the NRC AM Log 2013-2014 which went to press about August 1 showing NWS/BIZ format. Still shows Classic Country 1680 on website http://www.krjo.com which is nothing but a listen link. So our clear shot to KGED is over. QSL manager Patrick Martin has not answered two reports I sent him (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
