** ALBANIA. 7465, June 28 at 1754 via the UTwente SDR, R. Tirana with folk music
which would have been quite nice were it not for the distortion and hum. Ivo
Ivanov, Bulgarian monitor, agrees that all the RT broadcasts to Europe are also
this way:
Radio Tirana with awful modulation, extreme distortion, June
25:
0700-0900 7390 SHI 100 kW / 310 deg to WeEu Albanian Daily, relay
HS-1
1700-1730 7465 SHI 100 kW / 310 deg to SoEu Italian Mon-Sat
1730-1800
7465 SHI 100 kW / 310 deg to WeEu French Mon-Sat
1931-2000 7465 SHI 100 kW /
310 deg to WeEu German Mon-Sat
2000-2030 7465 SHI 100 kW / 310 deg to U.K.
English Mon-Sat

** ARGENTINA. 15343.90, UT Sun June 29
at 0238, R. Nacional is still on in lilting Spanish at S3 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** AUSTRIA. 9690.0, June 29 at 0254, choral South Asian
song at S5. It`s amid the AWR Urdu/Punjabi hour via Moosbrunn (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BRAZIL. 6059.780, June 28 at 0607, JBA carrier
here, in the absence of RHC English, doubtless SRDA Curitiba, which I had logged
on 6059.79 May 28. With very few exceptions, to be a ZY SW broadcaster, you
*must* transmit off-frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
**
BRAZIL. 11925.20, June 29 at 0244, Brazuguese talk from Rádio Bandeirantes,
which doesn`t drift but has been known to jump up closer to 11926 from its usual
spot (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BRAZIL. 11934.60, June 29
at 0244, music at S2, must be Rádio RB2, down from 11934.7 where Carlos
Gonçalves, Portugal had it on June 3 and 6; looking back, in May it was on
11934.8 and in March on 11934.9, so the trend is very slowly drifting downward.
I had found it missing on June 20.
Same behaviour as their ``9725``
outlet, which had drifted down as low as 9722.97 where I logged it last Nov 20
before it got bumped back up to relatively stable 9724.9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** BURUNDI [non]. 15480, June 28 at 1801, via UTwente
remote, African music at good level, 1804 talk in presumed Kirundi, from Radio
Publique Africaine, via FRANCE. With abysmal solar flux, this is the only way I
am going to hear it; not even a carrier here as I have checked numerous dates
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. 6060, June 28 at 0607,
RHC English is off this frequency; still on 6100 & 6165 undermodulated as
usual. But opening up channel for off-frequency BRAZIL, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA [non]. 9490, June 29 at 0257, R. República
at S9+25 over wall-of-noise jamming which contributes to the S-reading, talking
about Libertad, then ID and addressing ``hermanos y hermanas en Cuba`` to
promote some event or broadcast on domingo. Via FRANCE, Aoki and EiBi show the
span as 01-05 UT; HFCC as 0000-0259 in three hourly segments. I`ve heard them
later than 0300 on occasion, but not as late as 0500; perhaps they are flexible.
I`ve not caught them signing on or off (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** KOREA SOUTH. 15575, Sat June 28 at 1300, KBS World Radio has a
poor-fair signal so maybe I will be able to hear the final Indian DX Report
later in the hour (as KBS has cancelled the DX segments on Listeners Lounge as
of mid-July) --- but by 1333 and 1344 it`s only S4 and unreadable (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6874.70-AM, June 29 at 0229,
weak music at S7 vs noise peaks of S9+10. Earlier in the hour and later there
were reports of unID or CPR on 6875-USB, so presumably this is separate:
(Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** OKLAHOMA. 1640, June 28 at 1239 UT,
KZLS Enid/Hennessey/OKC is still off the air; and still still at 0048, 0310 and
0441 chex June 29 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** OKLAHOMA.
It`s Field Day! So I make a cursory check of the HF hambands, June 28 from 1936.
Nothing on 18 or 21 MHz, so no point in even trying 24 or 28. 14 MHz has a lot
of signals, but all weak during awful propagation conditions. 3 MHz has no
signals at all, at midday. That leaves 7 MHz, which does bear a lot of FD
activity, mostly weak too, except for: W5HTK, Enid Amateur Radio Club, S9+60,
stronger than any SW broadcasters by skywave reach here, since it`s only a few
blox away? Or in a Field a bit further. Keeps QSYing, calling CQ Field Day, from
1934 on LSB: 7201, 7204, 7207, 7219, 7239 by 1943. Arcane alfnumerix are uttered
to successful contacts: ``6-alfa-oklahoma``, such as on the latterest, with
N0ZS, who replies, ``2-alfa-Missouri``.
The Enid ARC website http://www.enidarc.org bears nothing at all to
promote Field Day, not even on its calendar, but rather: ``The ETN Community
Spotlight proudly presents The Enid Amateur Radio Club``
A
segment on the local cable-access channel usurped by Enid city government from
the late lamented Pegasys.
After dark, UT June 29 around 0241, I find
both 20m and 40m are crammed with Fieldayers, as this is also a contest (Glenn
Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** PALAU. 9965.043, June 28 at 1225,
Brother Scare is not only off his rocker but off his T8WH frequency. Says his
86th birthday will be May 3, 2019, and so the world will then be ready for
second coming of J.C. six months later. Yeah, right (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** SPAIN. 17855, June 28 at 1925, no signal from REE,
so seems the North American beam is gone again, and on a sportive Saturday, no
less. Propagation is awful, with solar flux of only 77, but I do detect a
carrier on 17715 which would be Spain to elsewhere, always much weaker than
17855 when latter is operative (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1831 monitoring: NOT confirmed, Saturday June 28 at 1430
on Hamburger Lokalradio, 7265-CUSB via the UTwente remote, where it is usually
audible. Nothing before 1430 either from Media Network Plus, where at the end I
provide some two minutes of propagation info unlike on WOR. Further chex during
semi-hour to 1501, no signals at all, nor from CRI. But the band noise must mean
the receiver is funxional. And I later get other stuff on it.
WOR 1831
confirmed Sat June 28 after 2230 on WBCQ 9330v-CUSB, just barely audible. Also
confirmed on WA0RCR, 1860.02-AM, UT Sun June 29 at 0314 already underway about
the Ascension stamps, so started about 0312, S9 and so is the storm noise level
at least, but no pileup or encroachments by Field Day contesters on this band?

** U S A. 15240, Sat June 28 at 1645, WWRB fair
signal with African hilife music; 1659 no ID, 1701 into presumed Ugandan
national anthem, and then choral theme music past 1705 mentioning Uganda, so
presumed Radio Munansi, still at 17-19 UT on Sat, altho last Sun I was hearing
Luganda(?) talk before 1700. There is still not a word about this broadcast on
the WWRB website (nor any current program schedule). Nor anything about being on
WWRB at http://radiomunansi.com which
doesn`t present any recent news, but alleges that it podcasts. I have now added
15240 to the BSR-1 caradio memory for easy checking (or maybe Radio Australia
after 2100) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
UNIDENTIFIED. 11240,
June 28 at 1231, JBA carrier with traces of talk. Not listed by Aoki as a Sound
of Hope frequency, so I subtract 1390 from it to see what I get: 9850 ---
therefore, an external mixing product overloading the R-75 between powerful RHC
and local blaster KCRC. I should have compared to audio of those two if I had
figured this out in time (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
