On 1520 it`s really KYND, Cypress TX. Shawn Fahrer found the corporate source for all this following my yesterday`s log, obviously a ChiCom subsidiary allowed in the US; can you imagine such a reciprocal arrangement for USG broadcasts within China? Yes, the VOT German service at 1730-1825, 500 kW, 310 degrees from Emirler, and thus also USward. I suspect this reception is anomalous, following some propagation disturbance.

but the April 12 opening program summary mentions `Letterbox`, not DX Corner, so English is at least a week out of synch with German. After some slow loading, you can advance the playback 10 minutes into the hour file to confirm it`s Letterbox: first one from David Crystal in Israel taking TRT to task for allowing the B13 frequency for English at 1730 to be blocked by something else. (Looking at Aoki, that would have been 11680, also with KCBS domestic service from North Korea until 1800.) Host also mentions that Mr Ozman (sp?), head of English service, is retiring this week.
