SUDAFRICA 9665 IRIN Radio, 17:35-17:47, escuchada el 6 de abril en somalí, comienza emisión muy tarde, observo transmisor encendido desde antes de las 17:10, comienza con música de sintonía, locutor con presentación y boletín de noticias, se aprecia de fondo a REE en español con programa deportivo, referencias a Somalia, anuncia E-mail, locutora con comentarios, referencias a Somalia y Nairobi, fin de emisión, se aprecia unos tonos cada ocho segundos, "Di Du Di Du", a las 17:46 parece que se reanuda pero se corta la emisión a los pocos segundos, SINPO 44454.

A través del programa DX 'Antena de la Amistad' de KBS World Radio -con la conducción de Sonia Cho y Javier Cortines – a partir del próximo sábado 5 de abril se emitirá el Informe N°238. Continua la charla con RICARDO SCHLIEPER, Jefe Técnico de LRA2 Radio Nacional Viedma. En la segunda parte de esta entrevista Schlieper nos habla de la Planta Transmisora, nos aclara por qué la frecuencia 1150 Khz está corrida (LRA2 se escucha exactamente en ,5 Khz), refiere al transmisor de AM SITELCO, explica el funcionamiento exigido de las válvulas y hace un diagnóstico de la situación actual del rendimiento del transmisor y de su futuro próximo, también alude al transmisor M31 de FM (93.5 Mhz) y finalmente relata los aspectos que condicionan a la propagación de LRA2 en tierras patagónicas donde dominan las grandes extensiones de escasas lluvias, un vasto territorio donde operan -además de Radio Nacional Viedma- otras 3 emisoras hermanas en Ingeniero Jacobacci, Bariloche y El Bolsón. Lao National Radio external service available online
The external service of state broadcaster Lao National Radio has now made its English and Lao programmes available on its website at http://www.lnr.org.la/. The broadcaster has had some audio content available on its website for some time, however consisting of just specific news items in English, Lao, Hmong and French. This remains the case for the latter two languages, but now the entire English and Lao programmes for the current and previous few days are available on demand. It's not clear if the station still broadcasts on shortwave. Only their 97.25 MHz FM frequency is announced in the English programme, but the 7145 kHz shortwave frequency is still mentioned in their 'About Us' page. Here are the main changes for the A08 season:
1) To allow cleaner reception on our target area, there will be a 5 kHz frequency shift from 7,285 to 7,290 kHz effective April 4, 2008, for our evening broadcasts. Two hours on Saturday evening have also been been added on 7,290 kHz, to complement our Friday and Sunday broadcasts on weeek-ends between 1800-2000 UTC (2000-2200 CET, summertime).
2) The antenna type and direction for all broadcasts on 7,290 kHz (150 kW) has been changed to allow better coverage of Middle East and the whole of Africa. Europe will be covered through the back and sides of the directional antenna.
3) Broadcast on 9,510 kHz on Sundays will still use an antenna favoring reception of Europe, North Africa and the near Middle East. DX reception, however, may be also possible outside of the above mentioned targets.

Due torri di 140 metri al Colle della Maddalena
Accorperanno tutte le antenne radio-tv della collina
Due torri autoportanti più basse, sui 140 metri, invece di un unico colosso alto 220. Tra fine 2009 e inizio 2010 sorgeranno nei pressi del Faro della Vittoria. Conto alla rovescia in vista del riassetto del Colle della Maddalena, con riferimento alla soluzione che la Provincia - d'intesa con la Soprintendenza e i Comuni interessati - sta studiando per accorpare il groviglio di antenne disseminate nel verde della collina torinese. Due gli obiettivi: metterle finalmente a norma, tutelando la salute dei cittadini, e migliorare il servizio. Dalla conferenza dei servizi sono emerse le prime indicazioni su come procedere in quello che il ministero delle Telecomunicazioni classifica «sito di rilevanza nazionale». Indicazioni ancora da approfondire, ma più circoscritte rispetto a quelle emerse a fine novembre. La prima novità riguarda la localizzazione del sito interessato dallo studio di fattibilità, che nei prossimi mesi si avvarrà di indagini geologiche e radioelettriche (probabilmente affidate ad esperti del Politecnico). Tra le sette-otto località esaminate nella collina, la scelta è caduta sull'are antistante il Colle della Maddalena (perimetrata nella foto), già interessata dal grosso delle antenne fuori norma. A condizionarla sono state cause di forza maggiore: le proprietà radioelettriche, sempre migliori via via che ci si avvicina alla sommità del colle (715 metri); l'impossibilità di far coabitare le nuove strutture con impianti esistenti (vedi quelli a uso dell'Areonautica e delle forze dell'ordine sull'ottimo «Bric della Croce»). Altri requisiti chiamano in causa la disponibilità di spazio e la solidità del terreno. Individuata l'area, restano da definire i punti sui quali sorgeranno le torri, anche se il versante più gettonato sembra quello a est del Faro (nella foto, tre opzioni sul tavolo): la decisione è questione di mesi. Già, le torri. Come spiega l'assessore provinciale Dorino Piras - preso in contropiede dalle indiscrezioni -, ragioni di impatto ambientale e di ordine economico hanno fatto perdere quota all'ipotesi di un'unica, grande torre per le tlc svettante sulla collina. Tre, anche se più basse, sarebbero troppe. Il compromesso ne prevede due, corredate da una cabina di servizio interrata. Toccherà a questi impianti, collocati a quote diverse e non necessariamente allineati, accorpare le antenne esistenti (escluse quelle Rai e Mediaset) coniugando rispetto dei limiti e qualità estetica. Particolare non trascurabile: le torri saranno direzionate verso zone prive di case. Il costo si aggira sui 5 milioni, in linea con le risorse accantonate dalla Regione: a giorni Antonio Saitta incontrerà Mercedes Bresso per firmare l'accordo di programma che sblocca i finanziamenti. Il presidente della Provincia è soddisfatto: «Finora abbiamo rispettato la tabella di marcia lavorando a stretto contatto con le parti interessate. Compresa la Soprintendenza». Parole d'ordine: sicurezza ed estetica. La riduzione dell'impatto ambientale è uno dei requisiti che la Provincia inserirà nella gara di progettazione entro fine anno. Non solo. Piras pensa a soluzioni ambiziose che contemplano il ricorso alle energie rinnovabili: «L'alimentazione potrebbe essere fornita da pannelli solari montati sulla sommità delle torri». Un altro capitolo aperto attiene alla gestione delle strutture una volta realizzate. (La Stampa)

MV Baltic Radio - News
On the 6th of April 2008, at 1200 UTC on the channel of 6140 KHz, MV Baltic Radio is on the air from the transmitting station in Wertachtal. We will be using a non-directional antenna system (Quadrant antenna). The power of the transmitter will be 100 000 Watts.
In our program we send information from Mecklenburg - Western Pomeranian and the Baltic Region. We introduce new CDs by young artists, and we will report on environmentally friendly energy supply. Last but not the last our series "Eine kleine Beat- Musik-A little beat music"-memories of the 60s & 70s.

New Frequency details
A reminder that on Sunday, one of the frequencies that we are broadcasting on is changing. We will still be on our normal frequency of 4880Khz, but our second frequency will be changing to 12035kHz. Ha iniziato la diffusione in alcune lingue ufficiali CSI
Diventa poliglotta l'emittente statale destinata a supportare la lingua dell'aquila bicipite. Il canale radio ha iniziato la diffusione in alcune lingue ufficiali della Comunita' di stati indipendenti - ex spazio sovietico. Per ora offrirà mezz'ora di trasmissioni per i residenti di Armenia, Moldova e Uzbekistan. Il progetto e' stato avviato in collaborazione con le emittenti locali. L'obiettivo della radio, il cui nome riecheggia quello della Voice of America che mandò nell'etere il verbo antisovietico durante la guerra fredda, è aumentare il numero di lingue della rete di trasmissione entro la fine dell'anno. I nuovi relay sono stati attivati a Yerevan (Armenia) su 106 mHz, a Chisinau (Moldova) su 103.2 mHz, a Tashkent (Uzbekistan) su 100.5 mHz e a Osh (Kyrgyzstan) su 102 mHz.

thanks for your email and em-pee-drei recording.
PLEASE send me (by email) a copy of your written reception report AND tell me exactly what you included with the report in the envelope (you mentioned USDollars5 -- anything else??).
I will contact Radio St. Helena and ask about your reception report. I have 17 other "missing" reports from USA and three more from Europe to sort out.
It would appear that a lot of mail is "stolen" in South Africa. Any letter that looks in any way to be "interesting" seems to "disappear". That is the fastest route, but it is also not safe.

Voice of Russia in Italiano : 12000 molto bene; 15465 molto male; e sorpresa su 1548 programma in RUMENO di Radio Internazionale !!!! e su 936 kHz a Milano solo la RAI 1 ........ Roberto Pavanello invece è riuscita ad ascoltare la Voice of Russia a 936, non hanno quindi sostituito la frequenza come invece previsto.

Bienvenidos a "Historias de Radio", un programa donde el pasado y el presente de la radio se dan la mano. Una idea y producción de Daniel Camporini. Realizado, íntegramente, en el estudio de diexismo y comunicación, Munro, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
En Alemania, los años posteriores a la primera gran guerra de 1914, hicieron cambiar la forma de vida de la población. El imperio alemán había dejado de existir, ya casi no tenía colonias, las estaciones de radio o de onda corta estaban prohibidas y solo fueron reestablecidas en el mes de agosto de 1929, aunque se hicieron algunas pruebas desde la planta transmisora, allá por los años 1926 y 1927. El país era un desastre con miles de problemas por resolver y obviamente no tenían recursos para atender asuntos de menor importancia como la radiodifusión. Evidentemente, porque además, solo una pequeña minoría de la población podía darse el lujo de adquirir un receptor de radio. Para nosotros no es fácil de comprender lo que eso significa, porque la electrónica y las comunicaciones, actualmente fueron más parte integral de nuestras vidas, pero en los años 20 y comienzos de los 30 era solo una incipiente ciencia conocida genéricamente como radio. Muy pocos en el mundo llegaban a comprenderla aunque la mayoría había escuchado los nuevos términos. Radio, antenas, bulbos, lámparas, válvulas de radio. Vocablos que todos asociaban de alguna manera con la electricidad, el teléfono y algo mágico que hacía llegar la voz a distancias inalcanzables. Señoras y señores en el programa de esta semana analizaremos el inicio de la onda corta en Alemania y cómo se desarrolló en la ya desaparecida República Democrática Alemana.En nombre de Daniel Camporini sean ustedes bienvenidos a este programa donde contamos Historias de Radio.

Voce della Turchia, altro errore o che?
Anche stasera la Voce della Turchia, come notato da Dario Monferini, ha trasmesso su 6185 alle 1730-1800 UTC ha trasmesso un programma in spagnolo piuttosto che la trasmissione in lingua italiana. La situazione comincia a diventare strana, a meno che non sia derivata da un addetto alla control room particolarmente rinco che continua a commutare feed sbagliati ai trasmettitori. E' comunque la conferma di un servizio in italiano totalmente inaffidabile e, ormai, assolutamente inutile

Errore tecnico alla Voce di Turchia
Come notato da Francesco Cecconi e Dario Monferini, ieri pomeriggio è saltata sulle onde corte la trasmissione in lingua italiana della Voce della Turchia, regolarmente presente sul web. Al suo posto sui 6185 Khz è stata trasmessa la trasmissione in spagnolo, anch'essa in onda dalle 1730 alle 1800 UTC ma di regola su 7160 Khz. Oggi pomeriggio, invece, tutto regolare...

In London, both the Evening Standard and the Evening News splashed the news of the Mi Amigo's demise across their front pages: "Pop Pirate Caroline is Sunk," led the Standard, while the News opened with, "Storm Sinks Pop Pirate Caroline." Both papers gave dramatic accounts of the 12-hour rescue operation: "The hairiest rescue I've ever done," exclaimed lifeboat Coxswain Charlie Bowry. DJ Stevie Gordon was quoted: "The sea was a boiling cauldron. We had made the decision to leave very reluctantly, but the pumps were no match for the water coming in." The ship's canary got a look in too - Evening Standard: "One of the (Mi Amigo) crewmen begged, 'Can we bring our canary?' There was an anxious moment as the canary - in its cage - was pulled to safety. 'It's eyes were popping out,' said coxswain Mr Bowry." There was speculation that this was the end for Radio Caroline although a spokesman for the station said that they hoped Caroline could continue despite the loss of the ship. Coastguards were relieved that the Mi Amigo had gone without loss of life: "She was only kept afloat by her pumps," one said.
The sinking was given full coverage on the BBC TV evening news, including an airing of Stevie and Tom Anderson's parting words: "For the safety of those on board we are going off with the lifeboat. Don't worry, we are all OK..."
The national dailies featured the drama prominently the following morning: "Plop radio!" jested the Mirror on it's front page. The paper then gave a full account of the rescue and a brief overview of the station's past trials and tribulations. There were tributes from 60's pirate DJs and the Mirror noted that Caroline had 1 million listeners in the UK. In contrast, the London Times stated that Caroline had 500,000 listeners (Some surveys had put the figure at around 4 million.) and mentioned that severe storms had been the only real threat to the station's existence.
With Caroline off the air, reliable news about the station's future plans was hard to come by. John Blake's "Ad Lib" column in the London Evening Standard sometimes offered a few titbits. From August 3rd, 1981: "Caroline Sails Back - Radio Caroline's bosses have bought a new pirate ship and they are secretly fitting it out to begin broadcasting next month." The article named the new ship as the 1000-ton, 70 metres long "Imagine." Unfortunately it was to be a further two years before Caroline could return to the airwaves.

ACCORDO RAI E RADIO VATICANA PER NUOVI SISTEMI DIGITALI
E' stato firmato oggi un importante accordo di collaborazione tra la RAI, e Radio Vaticana, emittente radiofonica della Santa Sede, per la sperimentazione di nuovi sistemi digitali per la diffusione dei segnali radiofonici con tecnologia DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale), nuovo standard mondiale non proprietario riconosciuto dall'ITU (International Telecommunication Union) e dall'ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute). In particolare permettera' di verificare, a partire dal mese di maggio, la copertura delle emissioni in modulazione digitale DRM di RAI e Radio Vaticana a Roma e in provincia. Claudio Cappon, Direttore Generale RAI ha dichiarato: 'La collaborazione si inquadra in un contesto di valorizzazione delle specifiche competenze acquisite da RAI nel campo dei nuovi servizi digitali e permettera' di valutare le potenzialita' offerte dallo standard DRM promuovendo lo sviluppo tecnologico dei nuovi apparati di ricezione a basso costo gia' inseriti nei piani di sviluppo delle industrie del settore'. Il reverendo Padre Federico Lombardi s.j., Direttore Generale di Radio Vaticana ha aggiunto: 'Lo standard DRM riveste particolare interesse per i broadcasters in quanto permette un netto miglioramento della qualita' di ricezione nelle trasmissioni in banda HF, anche a lunga distanza, alle quali la Santa Sede e' particolarmente interessata'. Firmato oggi un importante accordo di collaborazione tra la Rai, servizio pubblico radiotelevisivo, e Radio Vaticana, emittente radiofonica della Santa Sede, per la sperimentazione di nuovi sistemi digitali per la diffusione dei segnali radiofonici con tecnologia Drm (Digital Radio Mondiale), nuovo standard mondiale non proprietario riconosciuto dall'Itu (International Telecommunication Union) e dall'Etsi (European Telecommunications Standards Institute). In particolare la sperimentazione permettera' di verificare, a partire dal mese di maggio, la copertura delle emissioni in modulazione digitale Drm di Rai e Radio Vaticana nella citta' di Roma e provincia, effettuate in banda HF sulla frequenza dei 26 MHz. La radiodiffusione digitale in tecnica DRM garantisce, rispetto a quella analogica, una qualita' audio nettamente superiore essendo comparabile alla qualita' delle emissioni in modulazione di frequenza, e consente la riduzione delle potenze di trasmissione, a parita' di area di copertura, con conseguente elevato risparmio energetico ed un ridotto impatto ambientale in termini di emissione elettromagnetica. In Onda Media e' gia' in corso la sperimentazione della diffusione digitale DRM dalla stazione RAI di Milano Siziano sulla frequenza 900 KHz e dalla stazione di Radio Vaticana di Roma S. Maria di Galeria, rispettivamente sulle frequenze 1530 KHz e 1611 KHz e, a breve, anche dalla stazione Rai di Roma S. Palomba sulla frequenza 846 KHz. EASTER WEEKEND BROADCASTS FROM THE RADIO CAROLINE SHIP
The entire weekend will be hosted by presenters from our second ship, Mi Amigo who all served on board between 1977 and 1980.
Some of the team are shown on the left - then and now! This special birthday broadcast starts at 6 a.m. on Good Friday and runs until midnight on Easter Monday. You'll be able to watch some of the action via on-board webcams.
There'll be some additional ways to listen this Easter too. You'll be able to tune in via our friends at Radio Mi Amigo where a special stream will be dedicated entirely to Caroline. They will also be replacing some their regular programmes with ours. Just go to http://www.radiomiamigo.eu
Caroline will also be available on 9290 kHz shortwave from Latvia between 15:00-18:00 [UT???] on Easter Sunday afternoon.

NIGER/ GOVERNO SOSPENDE RADIO FRANCE INTERNATIONALE
La sospensione delle trasmissioni di Radio France Internationale in tutto il paese è stata ordinata dal governo del Niger, che ha accusato l`emittente francese di "discreditare le istituzioni nigerine". Lo riferisce l'agenzia Misna. Il Consiglio superiore delle comunicazioni, annunciando il provvedimento, ha detto che la sospensione durerà tre mesi. (Apcom)

Spirit of Knoxville sui 30 metri
Sono le 19:24 utc e sto ricevendo sui 10146.3 Lsb i segnali in Rtty e CW del pallone sonda Spirit of Knoxville IV che sta volando in questo momento sopra l'Atlantico. Il segnale e' basso ma qualcosa riesco a decodificare con MIXW. Questo e' l'inizio della stringa rtty: JURSJUFXFXFXFXFXFX (--4UT BALLOON
