** CHINA [and non]. 17660, June 12 at 1401 checking whether CNR8 Korean service
clashes with Saudi in French, all I can hear is a JBA het, so weak I can`t
decide whether it`s on the hi or lo side (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** CUBA. 5040, June 12 at 0301 I happen to tune in RHC Spanish
just as a frequency announcement is starting, so here`s the list in typical
Soviet disorder: 15230. 13740, 11670, 11840, 9535, 9710, 6060, 5040. 0302 into
`La Trova Cubana` which they say is lunes a viernes, meaning martes a sabado.
Had I wanted to listen to this music show, much better very good signals were on
13740, 11840, 11670 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** EGYPT.
13850, June 12 at 0304, R. Cairo VG signal, Arabic distorted but not suppressed
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** KURDISTAN [non]. 11510, June
12 at 0316, flute, guitar and vocal Kurdish music on good signal from Denge
Kurdistane; this segment 03-05 UT when due east via FRANCE provides the best
reception here by far (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** NEW
ZEALAND. 15720, June 12 at 0405, no AM signal from scheduled RNZI frequency but
DRM noise is funxioning on 17670-17675-17680. 11725, June 12 at 0520, RNZI also
AWOL from its next AM frequency. Must be Friday maintenance (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** OKLAHOMA. 740, June 12 at 0527, surprised to hear
`Silent Night` playing 6 months out of synch, maybe something CFMZ would do? No,
it`s only KRMG Tulsa and playing a bit of it again at 0529 apparently bookending
a talk show segment, Dennis? (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
**
OKLAHOMA. 1120, June 9 and 10 while relatively close in Bartlesville, a few
random chex for KEOR/KETU Sperry in the daytime produced nothing.
1120,
June 12 at 1759, KEOR/KETU is definitely back on with as good a groundwave
signal as it ever attains here, continuous Mexican music past 1807, several
tunes segued with no announcements, no ads, not even a legal hourtop ID when one
could have been inserted easily. Is it still La Picuda syndication service out
of L.A.? No IDs for that either. These songs all seemed by same artist, whiny
male vocalist with trumpets and tuba; another block checked later in the hour
had more variety and still no announcements whatsoever (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** SAUDI ARABIA. 17895, June 12 at 0306, very poor
signal with Qur`an, so BSKSA HQS from Riyadh scheduled 0255-0800 at 40 degrees
azimuth. 15170, 0250-0600 at 355 degrees is regular in the summer (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** SUDAN. 7205, June 12 at 0259, fair signal
with chanting and drumming, 0300 Arabic talk, to late timesignal ending at
0300:13.5 UT and a distinctive one made up of double-pips every second with the
last one prolonged. I think this covered 5 seconds but not sure. Continues in
Arabic, somewhat muffled, presumably news from Omdurman (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** SUDAN SOUTH [non]. 11560, June 12 at 0317, English
discussion of African politix, fair signal, i.e. Miraya FM, due south via
PRIDNESTROVYE (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A [and non].

** U S A. 9330, June 12 at 0308, WBCQ is
on again with VG signal, preaching. Larry Will has found out that it`s the `Good
Friends Radio Network`, revived from Canada, daily at 02-06 -- but Ivo Ivanov
and I are not hearing it after 0500; 9330 also at 01-02 with `Full Gospel Hour`
daily 01-02; ``The transmitter is back with a new antenna system and has been
doing very well here at my listening post in Maryland the past week or so.
Regards, Lw`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 11870,

0226 UT on 2, brief glimpse of analog
