** CUBA. 13700, Nov 15 at 1444, RHC `En Contacto` at winter timing nominal 1435 Sunday, Arnie Coro`s voice is back so throat may no longer be sore unless this be an old rerun, during a ``QSL en el aire`` shoutout to some oyente; as usual, lickety-split pace difficultizing comprehension; he needs some lessons in proper radio-announcing technique. No spurs today. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 15700, Nov 15 at 1555, CRI English relay is S9+10 but only a trace of modulation as likely for the entire 1500+ hour. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** FRANCE [and non]. 21690, Nov 15 at 1537, JBA music, i.e. RFI Swahili this hour only --- great to have a bit of 13mb propagation anyway. And the only other signal, 21525 WRMI is a hefty S7-S9 with guitar music to Africa.
I have been seeking the MUF after first finding several phoners on the 18 MHz hamband, but all weak and hard to catch IDs as they make no effort to foneticize slowly and clearly. Then from 1538 I try the 21 MHz hamband, which is propagating some more weak unID signals:
21415-AM, intermittent carrier, so a hAM?
21292-USB at 1538, QRZ with French/Canadian? accent, mentions DL3--, contact?
21281-USB at 1549 in English
21267-USB at 1550, English
21287-USB at 1552, English
WWV reported: ``Solar-terrestrial indices for 14 November follow Solar flux 80 and estimated planetary A-index 3. The estimated planetary K-index at 1500 UTC on 15 November was 0. No space weather storms were observed for the past 24 hours. No space weather storms are predicted for the next 24 hours`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** GERMANY [and non]. Part of Kai Ludwig`s reply to my previous DW 15195 report: ``Concerning the IS-only transmission: It has been observed already a couple of times, and it could be worth to check if maybe the transmitters are turned on just every Saturday no matter what. Anyway this transmission is, as DW told on enquiry, explicitly booked only for the precise days when broadcasts are scheduled. When TDF fires it up on other days they simply burn electricity without getting any income from a customer for it.
The days of "if it`s DW it can`t be direct from Germany" are over. Their provider for shortwave transmissions directly from Europe is again Media Broadcast, and in at least one season also the Nauen transmitters, once built for DW, were involved again. Kai``
The Nauen transmitters were built for RBI in Germany East; more added later post-DDR? Well, in B-20 there are still no Nauens for DW: http://hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B20&broadc=DWL Nor were there in A-20: http://hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=A20&broadc=DWL But FYI, besides ISS, 3.5 hpd via USAGM SAO TOME, and a bit via MADAGASCAR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NIGERIA. 11769.894, Nov 15 at 1448, JBA carrier, presumed VON perpetually off-frequency-minus from every channel, but was not expecting it on air this early; often noted later in UT day, insufficiently. Aoki/NDXC and EiBi both ignore its signature offfrequenciness, showing it start at 1500 with Swahili. HFCC pretends VON is non-existent since stations must pay to participate (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6880-AM, Nov 14 at 2154, JBA music at S8 = noise level too, checked after this tip to the WOR iog: ``Pirate station TAMI FM is on 6880 AM with an SIO 444 signal here at 2128 UTC. https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,74288.0.html Chris Smolinski, Black Cat Systems, Westminster, MD USA https://www.blackcatsystems.com`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11815.018, Nov 15 at 1454, music with fast SAH, no doubt VOT on typically inaccurate frequency vs understation NHK closer to 11815.000 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5085, UT Sun Nov 15 at 0118, WTWW-2 starting `Theatre Organ Under the Arch`, featuring guest thorganist Jesse Crawford. Note shifted but highly variable time; unfortunately it`s now amid the `Encore` classical music hour on WRMI 5850, its best airing toward here to which I am primarily listening. I could/should? have recorded TOUTA off WTWW-2 $tereo webcast for later, altho you never know whether it will turn out to be a rerun (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
