Glenn Hauser logs August 25-26, 2020

** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, August 25 at 1354-1400*: none in 16s; 15165 good; none 14s; 13835 JBA; 12230, 12190, 11460 JBA carriers; 11440 Chinese S3-S8; 11170, 11150, 11120, 11100 JBA carriers; 11070 reached just in time for 1400* timesignal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, Aug 25 at 2354: 14980, JBA probably Chinese with Doppler flutter; no others in the 15s, 14s, 13s or 12s until 2400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. 6135, Aug 25 at 0408, Maine SDR is getting a weak S4-S5 signal singing, presumed RNM; no het from another just below, like Brasil (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, UT Wed Aug 26 at 0006, REE is S9+25/35 with bird calls, then morphing into mixing with unfamiliar orchestral piece, announcement soon as subject ``canciones de pájaros en la música clásica``, then 0010 excerpt of Ottorino Respighi`s ``Pines of Rome`` with song of nightingale [ruiseñor]. REE may be deficient in English but certainly provides some excellent programming in Castilian. Via WOR Hitlist, program sked at https://www.rtve.es/radio/radio-exterior/programacion/ shows 0130-0230 UT Wednesday is: `En Clave de 5`. What? The sked labels the times UTC but they are really UT+2! So axually 2330 UT Tuesday to 0030 UT Wednesday; also on 11940. Each program has an individual hotlink but not this one, rather back to a generic page! But I finally find it among huge roster of programas, https://www.rtve.es/alacarta/audios/en-clave-de-5/ with 199 podcasts, but not latest episode originally last Saturday is something else; maybe a repeat from long ago but searching the entire file does not find it. The title means ``In the Key of 5``, referring to the Radio 5 network (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, Aug 25 at 2244, VOT is on today with Turkish music fill reading S9-S7, but much weaker than 9690 Spain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130, Aug 25 at 1521 UT, now there is an S9+10 carrier here on the R75 and longwire, but just barely modulated; as KLEY Wellington KS is attempting a comeback after yesterday`s JBA when I was mobile north of Enid. Circa 1830 I`m back in the car inside Enid hearing a trace of something --- on that radio it`s hard to tell if an open carrier is involved, no strength meter. At 2128 again on the R75 like earlier, S9 and JBM vs noise level of S8. By 2312 on the NRD-545, KWKH sportstalk is propagating but with a fast SAH maybe remnant of KLEY. BTW, correcting previous report: that`s ``Wheat capital`` of the world, not ``what capitol``! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 11835, circa 0600 UT Aug 25, no signal at all from R. Vanuatu x 3, apparently off --- or intermittent per other reports:

``Aug 25 - From 0355+ (last checked 0550), had no signal from R. Vanuatu (harmonic 11835); only CNR2 being heard. Very unusual for RV to be off the air; there are no weather issues there. Ron California``

``Fair signal of Radio Vanuatu on 3rd harmonic 11835 kHz at 0645 UTC, but around 0655 only CNR-2 being heard. Fair signal on 2nd harmonic 7890 kHz at 0700 and poor signal on 3945 at same time via SDR Brisbane`` - Ivo Ivanov, Aug 25 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7348-CW, Aug 25 at 0607, too fast CW for me to copy much, but starts with VVV and ends with K; no DE after VVV but maybe later inside repeating marker. Then goes into a non-marker contact including a lot of numbers. Recent UDXF iog logs of this frequency as FEMA ALE/USB from places such as Denver, Kansas City, Thomasville GA, Maine, Maryland, by patrice privat earlier around 0400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
