** ALASKA. 7560, Dec 24 at 1403, KNLS fair in Chinese, except for an Anglic
``Merry Christmas`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BIAFRA
[non]. 11530, Dec 24 at 1903, WRMI not on today for R. Biafra; unchecked whether
R. Herwa materialized at 1930 like yesterday (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** ARGENTINA [non]. 11580, Dec 24 at 1425, WRMI with gospel
huxter in English. Mon-Sat this is now off at 1400*, no more RAE relay in
Spanish, so evidently that was an unpaid bonus broadcast no longer affordable,
and RAE was always reluctant even to acknowledge its existence. Make do with
5950 at 22-23 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BRAZIL. 11854.9,
Dec 25 at 0052, R. Aparecida is missing. Normally it`s quite stronger than 25m
ZY companions 11815 and 11934.9 which are still JB audible (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. 15508, 15439, 15300, 15231, 15161, 15092
approx., Dec 24 at 1433, extremely distorted filthy spurblobs out of 15370 RHC
transmitter at about 69 kHz intervals, including one almost upon another real
RHC frequency, 15230! And woe betide any innocent bystations. `En Contacto`
starts about 1435; if Arnie were listening to his own broadcast at local range,
he might notice these; why depend on me for technical monitoring?? Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** GERMANY
[and non]. None of the Gruss an Bord, NDR Xmas special frequencies after 1900
Dec 24 were more than JBA carriers here. Checking the second set after 2100, at
2134: 5930 poor, 6155 JBAC, 9590 poor, 9650 very poor, 9765 JBA carrier, and
9830 would have been best if it were not buried by the RTTY! At 2135, ``Stille
Nacht`` was being performed by choir and organ. Not the only poor frequency
choice. Broadcasters simply don`t know or care about the RTTY on 9800, not doing
their homework (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** KOREA NORTH.
11572-11573, Dec 24 at 1425, noise/buzz peaking about here, inexplicable other
than as jamming vs VOA Korean 11570 via Saipan at 14-15 (also via Philippines
12-14); and the other day there was different jamming noise on the low side of
11570. Nothing at all is on 11575 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** OKLAHOMA. Enid`s two Part 15 FM stations for Xmas sound and
light shows are on again this year, visited around 0130 UT Dec 24: 89.5 for
Singing Xmas Trees on the oil patch at the NE corner of Oak and Oakwood,
including Chipmunx tune (Alvin!!); the residence on Pheasant Run on the west
edge of Enid was dark last year, but on again now causing traffic jams on
suburban streets, 97.7 also with familiar tunes including Mannheim Steamroller
(who appear in persons in Enid almost every year, it seems). Both these are
extremely limited range, with the lights carrying further, if unobstructed
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** SPAIN. 9690, Dec 24 at 2136,
REE with some holiday celebration, songs and chatter, VG here, while 15390 &
15500 are gone, if they were better earlier (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1909 monitoring: At first not confirmed,

WINB S9+20; 9370 WWRB S9+5; 9395 WRMI S9+25; 7490 WBCQ S9+30; but at 0044
recheck, now I am there, JBA S4. Next:

** U S A. 9395, Sunday Dec 24 at 2139,
surprised to encounter this WRMI carrying `Voice of the Report of the Week`, as
host who never (?) names himself opines that goose meat is too fatty, and plays
music request from some Soundcloud listener. The VORW hour shows up more and
more, so expenses must not be a problem. WRMI skedgrid at http://tinyurl.com/WRMIfqs
just shows
Oldies during this hour. Maybe it`s considered a filler for a frequency-hour
occupied weekdays by `The Power Hour` --- but that change still does not show on
the sked either. Yet I do spot something new:
9395, after RAE, at
0300-0400: R. Prague, R. Slovakia.
Jeff`s icon is often logged in to this
googledocs spreadsheet but that doesn`t mean he is axually actively editing it;
*still* has lots of green C blox for disgraced Brother Scare, even totally
silenced frequencies 7570, 7780, 11825. Docs also displays animal icons for
anonymous viewers, now llama, lemur and camel. Which one am I? (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 12105, Dec 24 at 0633, WTWW-3 is on
again with Xmasmx at S7—S8, and repeated in less than a minute on very strong
5085 flanked by silent parasites; greeting from a canned ham in Oklahoma.
5085, Dec 24 at 1352, still on at odd hour, Ted with Xmas promo. At
1429, 12105 is off, 5085 still on and 5830 with SFAW still on.
12105,
Dec 24 at 2138 is JBA, while 9930 is VG with Xmasmx
12105, Dec 25 at
0051, JBA carrier, while 5085 is blasting Xmasmx (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** U S A. 3215, Dec 25 at 0047, WWRB is S9+40 of dead air, maybe
going to modulate its non-BS huxters? BS channel 3185 is not on, nor is 9370
which had been a few minutes earlier; in process of QSY? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** VATICAN. 11625, Dec 24 at 2018, Bach at S9-S7 from
Vatican News (ex-Radio) about to diffuse live Xmas eve mass, but 2021 starts in
Italian before switching to scheduled Portuguese on this channel; still going at
2132 check.. Other three frequencies on lower bands JBA to JBA carriers, 9700,
7365, 5910 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** VIETNAM [non!].
7315, Dec 25 at 0039, WHRI is playing praise music in English, NOT VOV in
Spanish. Holiday anomaly default, or relay canceled? VOV was 0000-0030 &
0100-0130 English, 0030-0100 & 0130-0200 Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
UNIDENTIFIED. 9690, Dec 25 at 0041 past 0100, huge
S9+35 open carrier, slight fades, in fact the SSOB, exceeding similar bigsigs
from 9395 WRMI S9+30, 9455 S9+25. Seems must be intracontinental, VOA, WRMI or
WHRI. At 0050, 9720 RHC is S9+25 but more fading. Surprisingly, CRI Albania 9570
is S9+25/10, while often it`s very weak, so could 9690 be European? Spain maybe
left transmitter on after 2300? WRMI has used 9690 in the past too, and now
plenty of spare transmitters (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
