Glenn Hauser logs September 5, 2020

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-CUSB, Sat Sept 5 at 1540, 1645 and still 1747 chex, no signal to Brasil remotes from LRA36. RNASG succeeded transmitting Wednesday Sept 2, and had been repeating Saturdays except last week due to bad weather, altho there had been no specific publicity about today. Base Esperanza weather is relatively mild today, per Accuweather, so that`s no excuse:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, September 5 at 1456: none found in the WOOB 14s, 13s, 12s, 11s or 10s; a JBA carrier on 13150 computes instead as a receiver overload mix of 11760 RHC + 1390 KCRC local (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6000, Sept 5 at 0432, RHC English is suptorted, JBM and distorted at S9/+20; but 6145 is OK good. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13635 & 13765 approx., Sept 5 at 1451, RHC spurblobs, no readable modulation but F# tone, out of 13700, and weaker second-order pair about 13570 & 13830; just in time as they all go off at 1454.8*. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7254.9v, Sept 5 at 0620, VON is on tonight, imagine that! S9+10 fading to S6 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 11735 & 12000, Sept 5 at 1800, no signals from anti-Christ pirate Station YHWH, which had been caught occasionally with Saturday-daytime broadcasts on 25m -- I got 12000 once, and Mick Delmage had him on 11735 blocking Zanzibar. I scan the entire 25mb+ from 11500 to 12200 with no results. Maybe was on earlier and too late already (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 730, Sept 5 at 0450 UT, silly baseball game, mentions Dodger Stadium more than once, poor signal vs QRM partly Spanish. 24 hours ago on 730 I was getting Brother Scare which turned out to be KQPN Arkansas, diverging from its nominal format of Yahoo Sports Radio --- but that`s too far from LA to care about the Dodgers.

I consult the Sports Radio listings in IRCA DX Monitor June 27, to find no 730s even circumCalifornia on the Dodger network. Any radio roster on the Dodgers website is well-hidden, but what team are they playing so late tonight? Colorado Rockies, and they *do* have a 730, KLOE Goodland KS, one of our closest 730s, so that makes sense; it`s 292 miles vs 257 from KKDA TX Korean. However, NRC AM Log shows KLOE as U1 1000/20 watts, wow! What do you bet it`s on day power. BTW, address for it is in nearby Colby. See also 850: KOA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 850, Sept 5 at 0454 UT, KOA Denver, silly baseball game with *lots* of dead air --- no cheering crowd to fill the void, as the PBP announcer just says nothing for up to 20 seconds, yawn; however there is a trace of some kind of pulsing noise. So strong it`s QRMing 840. This would be Colorado Rockies game vs Dodgers, axually same one I had just heard on 730, but could not tell if same feed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 11835, Sept 5 at 0445, JBA carrier from R. Vanuatu x 3, qualifying now as the OSOB and therefore the SSOB! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9077-USB, Sept 5 at 0438, weak 2-way in Spanish, or rather multi-way, mentioning putas. A couple more of these unlogged a bit higher in the 9s (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
