# SIDC Weekly bulletin on Solar and Geomagnetic activity            #
#--------------------------------------------------------------------#
WEEK 541 from 2011 May 09

SOLAR ACTIVITY
-------------
Solar activity was rather low during the week, with only C-class flares. The strongest one was a C5.4 flare, occurring on May 9th at 2059 UT (peak time). It was associated with an active region, at that time behind the East limb, an EUV wave and a partial halo CME as seen from Earth. The 10.7 cm flux decreased to rather low levels (91 SFU on May 14th) compared to the past few weeks.

GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY
-------------------
Geomagnetic activity was very low during the week, with only
a brief period of active conditions on May 15th (15-18UT),
as the Earth entered a fast solar wind stream linked to a
coronal hole.
