Geomagnetic activity forecast for the period January 26 - February 2, 2018

Quiet: Jan 26, Jan 30 - Feb 2
Unsettled: Jan 27 - 30
Active:   Jan 27 - 28
Minor storm: 0
Major storm: 0
Severe storm: 0

Geomagnetic activity summary:
Next week, we expect at most quiet to unsettled conditions. We expect
active episode between January 27 and January 30 but the local K-index
should not exceed value 4. After this episode, we expect quiet to
unsettled level return and, the last two days, at most quiet conditions.

Geomagnetic activity forecast for the period January 26 - February 21, 2018


Geomagnetic field will be:
quiet on January 31, February 3, 6 - 8, 13 - 14
mostly quiet on February 2, 9, 15, 19
quiet to unsettled on January 26 - 27, 30, February 1, 12
quiet to active on January 28 - 29, February 4 - 5, 11, 16 - 18, 20
active to disturbed on February 10, 21

Amplifications of the solar wind from coronal holes are expected
on January 28 - 31, February 5 - 6, (7, 9,) 10 - 12, 16 - 18

Remark:
- Parenthesis means lower probability of activity enhancement.
- Current forecasts are continuing to be less reliable.
