The storm that hit the Netherlands last Wednesday has hit Radio Bloemendaal hard. One of the two mediumwave transmission masts has been demolished, so it is not possible in the short term to broadcast church services via mediumwave.
The north mast was bent at a height of about 3 meters and has fallen over the transmitter house. The antenna wire, which hangs between the two masts, is broken and has partially fallen to the ground (see picture below). The damage to the transmitter house is limited, but the damage to the mast is great.
As a result Radio Bloemendaal cannot broadcast via 1116AM. The radio station can still be listened to via the website. Here, in addition to an audio stream, a video stream is also available.
Radio Bloemendaal is the oldest broadcaster in the Netherlands and has existed since 1924.
