Dutch oldies station Radio 10 Gold is returning to mediumwave. The transmitter on 828 kHz, which is currently carrying an alternative service of Arrow Classic Rock, will switch to Radio 10 Gold at 1010 Dutch time (0810 UTC) on Monday 18 October, according to an announcement on the Radio 10 Gold website. The station, owned by RTL since the start of this year, has used several mediumwave frequencies in the past, most recently 1008 kHz, but has been broadcasting on cable, internet, satellite and digitenne only for the past three years. Despite that, it has maintained a market share of around 2.5 percent. The station says that it will be broadcasting on "full power" - the licenced power of the transmitter is 20 kW. (Media Network)
