Glenn Hauser logs July 9-10, 2020
** CHINA. 12500 & 11100, July 9 at 1411, only CNR1 jammers, JBA and presumed, none others found in the WOOB 10s, 11s, 12s or 13s. Likely many more were around before 1400* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 11631 & 11709, July 10 at 0218, a new set of S9 RHC spurblobs! plus and minus 39 kHz from 11670, which is S9+20 and distorted. F# tones also audible on fundamental and spurs, like in the mornings circa 13700; had also heard them circa 15370 afternoon, evidently all same transmitter, but the offset quite different here. Also a trace of second-order with F# circa 11748 and third, 11787, but could not be sure of a minus match on 11592. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 6185-, July 9 at 0628, XEPPM, off-frequency-minus at S9-S7, and more modulation than usual after JBA carrier yesterday (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NIGERIA. 7254.9, July 9 at 0627, VON is back on nominal channel today after excursion to 11769.9 yesterday (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6945-AM, July 10 at 0240 rock music, S9 including heavy storm noise level; YL ID sounds like ``You are tuned to ---- dot.com``; another at 0254 and music stops by 0300*. Many reports here https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,69271.0.html as Mix Radio International from 0035, but none later than 0202 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ROMANIA. 9700, July 9 at 0226, jazz on VG S9+10/20 signal from what? Not NZ this early, still on much weaker 13840 with someething else. Answer at 0229 ID: RRI in Spanish, and then found //7375 almost as good (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 28284.8-CW, July 9 at 1449, VVV N9TNY/B EN51, relog of Geneva IL beacon, slow WPM and long pause between iterations. So Geneva already has a SW station before any WPBC.
28286.5-CW, July 9 at 1455, WB0BIN, beacon alternating fast and slower WPMs. WJ5O roster shows:
``28.2865 WBØBIN C SABIN, MINNESOTA # 7W, GP VERTICAL New 22 April 18`` --- Sabin is just SE of Moorhead-Fargo. QRZ.com:
``WB0BIN USA flag USA, ROBERT T DABLOW, 251 MAIN ST, SABIN, MN 56580

Thanks this week for financial support from Ron Howard, Monterey CA, for a generous check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702; in memoriam Brian Alexander, Pennsylvania DXer who died in December 2012
One may also contribute via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com PayPal not necessarily in US funds as they will convert. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9955, July 9 at 1417, WRMI is on with algo in Spanish, off by 1443 recheck; contrary to own schedule showing WRMI-3 goes beyond 1400 only on weekends, and the webcast carries Freedom Synergy Radio M-F at 1400-1500. I suppose that could have been partially in Spanish, altho when we first monitored it evenings, it kept stuck to English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 15610, July 9 at 2125 check, WEWN English is still AWOL for at least the sixth day in a row; ditto the night frequency 9385 at 0225 July 10 check. A few summers ago absence was explained due to mowing the antenna farm, but that should hardly take a week, and Spanish remains active on 12050/5970 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2042)

Glenn Hauser logs July 8-9, 2020
** BOLIVIA. 5935, July 8 at 2358, no trace of Radio Yura, and WWCR is not on yet. That idiot***, SHN in Denmark, had reported it active to HCDX from *2240 July 6 via remote in Brasil. Followed by Claudio Galaz in Chile: ``5935. R. YURA. July 7. 0030-0054 UT. Woman talks and music. 24232, File: https://archive.org/details/152170070743 (Claudio Galaz, Receptor: TECSUN PL - 660; Antenna: Long Wire; QTH: Ovalle, Chile)``
It`s a 55 second clip, horrible reception, I can`t understand anything, let alone an ID, sounds distorted, and with buzz noise level.
***I would never be so rude as to call any fellow DXer an idiot, unless he has already called me one --- for objecting to Cuban jamming including vs my own program (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. 9664.86v, July 8 at 2346, weak signal with Brazilian talk and hymn, ``He Will Take Care of Me``, so RVM is active again and on the minus side of nominal 9665 instead of plus or doubleplus (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. 11780, July 8 at 2352, RNA is S7/S9+5 but seriously suptorted. // 6180 not distorted and about as strong but noisier (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA [non]. Radio Martí is still on the air as usual July 9 at 0008, tho I can`t vouch for program content, 5980, 6030, 7335, 7365 and DRM 7345, all in well at TWR Bonaire and without any jamming audible there. ``Informativa``, ha, checking since Kim Elliott posted this: https://www.radiotelevisionmarti.com/a/aviso-sobre-cambio-de-programaci%C3%B3n/268258.html ``julio 07, 2020, Nota informativa sobre Radio Martí
How vague. Richard Langley asks, what about 1180? I don`t know how it normally makes it to Bonaire SDR, but at 0150 check, not // RM on SW, presumably only hearing the Rebelde jammer pileup, so maybe Marathon be off. No, the TWR Key West SDR is hearing them both at 0155 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** IRELAND [non]. 7290, July 8 at 1800, another anomaly check of IRRS, ITALY [non] via BULGARIA, via UTwente SDR: Aïda and quick sign-on, right into `Life Matters`, anti-abortion far-Christian show. But the Wednesday schedule on nexus-iba website claims instead `Hope for Today`, so it`s out of date, even more so still showing `War Room Pandemic` at 1700, cancelled a couple months ago (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NIGERIA [and non]. 11770, since it appeared earlier July 8 for the 0600 VON broadcast, I wonder if it be on for the scheduled evening transmissions, or instead one of the other channels? At 1907, no reception here. At 1930 I tune UTwente SDR, to find 7255 occupied by Türkish from CRI Kunming site, CHINA; 9690 occupied by SPAIN with no het; but something very weak about 11769.9 vs huge splash from 11775 CRI German via Kashgar, EAST TURKISTAN. Checking Kiwi SDRs, there are only two in the entire continent of Africa, both in RSA, and TWR one tuned has no reception on 11770. However, the closest S American one in Pernambuco does get a weak African signal on 11769.9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9830, Wed July 8 at 2200, VOT English to North America is on today, and I`m listening via UTwente SDR where reception is VG after timesignal 2 seconds delayed as heard here, but there is a humwhine, continuous except for one brief break. Alan Roe had reported that the `Letterbox` had finally resumed after a long COVID-19 break, when he heard it on the real 1230 broadcast on 15450, but not the exact time, so I keep listening and note a bunch of different features before it, starting with news on a variety of subjects, and then: 2210 Turkish Press; 2212 Foreign Press; 2214 Turkey leads in aromatic plants; 2217 Today in History; 2219 Ephesus;
2222-2240 Letterbox program, ``been a long time``. Usual announcer very informal and seemingly opening letters for the first time, from: Stu Forsyth in NZ; China; Stefan Korona, Sweden; Pakistan; UAE-Sharjah; Moscow; Pakistan; UK; Japan; Brasil; Montgomery/Chicago? USA; Brasil; Malaysia. ``Next L`box in a week, goodbye.`` I did not check 9830 for direct reception here until 2246, when I found it poor S6-S9 with music.
As Alan Roe outpoints, ``It seems that some normality is returning to the English service of Voice of Turkey. The programme today (Wednesday 8 July) heard at 1230 UT on 15450 kHz included the first edition of the Letterbox Programme for many weeks. The announcer acknowledged that this was the first edition following the impact of the global coronavirus pandemic in Turkey. I had heard Letterbox on Wednesdays back in February, so it looks like this is the confirmed day for the programme. I still need to confirm, however, whether or not Letterbox is repeated in its old slot on Saturdays. Alan Roe, Teddington, UK`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15476-, July 8 at 1427, no signal here from LRA36, as sometimes achieves over mostly-water path from Esperanza to Enid, so is it still active Wednesdays around 1400-1600v? Yes, checked Pardinho, Brasil KiwiSDR at 1541 to hear W&M chat in Spanish -1550+, 1552 ``Nacional`` jingle, 1555 credits and ID; but poor and hashy QRM, local at rx site? Hard to tell with that but own modulation may also be defective (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
Reception had improved by 1555, no QRM and modulation OK, mostly readable; extended again past 1600, OM announcer breaks into song briefly at 1607; 1614 another song and ``un abrazo grande`` from YL; final credits briefly and song until 1615, off? Not quite, back with a bit more music until plugpull at 1615.7* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey July 8 at 1358: nothing below 13560 except 12880 & 12870 S7-S9, JBA on 12820. 1359 quick check above and below 11 MHz at 1359 finds only 11100 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 4765, July 8 at 0100, no signal from Radio Progreso, nominally 0030-0400. Mark Coady, Ont., also mentioned not hearing it in his July 7 report but without a specific date and time, assuming that was due to poor propagation. But something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 5040, July 8 at 0545, RHC in wrong language, still Spanish instead of English so not // 6000 JBM, 6145 undermod, and 6100 best, plus second harmonic 12200, S9/+10 at 0553. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 6185-, July 8 at 0548, at first seems XEPPM is AWOL, no signal, but then a JBA carrier and offset-minus, so probably it but QRP, exciter only? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NIGERIA. 11769.904V, slightly unstable, July 8 at 0554, guess what, VON is trying a third frequency for the 0600 Hausa broadcast, instead of 7254.9 or 9689.9, both of which have been heard recently but vacant now. Or a mistake? This is normally its evening channel only. HOA-type music at tune in; 0558 IS of drum and flutish; 0600 first spoken word is ``Nigeria``. This is the SSOB, equivalent to 12200 Cuba harmonic, stronger than 11895 Chinese, i.e. CNR1 jammer vs RFA via Saipan, and much stronger than 11835 Vanuatu harmonic. What`s next, 15120? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 89.5, July 8 at 0240 UT and beyond, still there at 1550, strong open carrier with $tereo pilot on, encountered as I am fruitlessly bandscanning for sporadic E DX since there`s a 106 MHz MUF spike around Wyoming. 89.5 is one of our few almost-open frequencies. Nearest full-powers are KWGS in Tulsa and KHCD in Salina, but there is no enhancement from other stations in those areas and both are normally inaudible. Perhaps a neighbor`s unoccupied RF feeder? Certainly not mine (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5085, UT Wed July 8 at 0125, WTWW-2 has Ted asserting it`s ``the real QSO``, after rock music and before Jesus plug; 0136 recheck Tedad for power supplies, and another Jesus plug. If this is ``QSO RADIO SHOW LIVE TUESDAY 8 PM CENTRAL ON 5085`` per http://wtww.us/pages/schedule.php he`s veering it way off-topic. 5085 is already off at 0544 check; sometimes runs later than nominal midnight CDT close.
This page also presents a totally imaginary multi-lingual 24-hour schedule for 15810!

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2041 monitoring, next:
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE
Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html
Thanks this week for financial support from John Carver, mid-north IN, for a generous check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702
One may also contribute via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com PayPal not necessarily in US funds as they will convert. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Mystery Pirate Radio on the air July 11, 19, and 26, on 3955 kHz
MPR has scheduled several more broadcasts over Channel 292 during July:
July 11 @ 0200 UTC
July 19 @ 1500 UTC
July 26 @ 1500 UTC.
Channel 292 sells us an hour of airtime at those hours for about 7 USD, so we are mostly just playing right now. The normal hourly airtime cost is right at 17 USD and we are a low budget station so 7 USD looks good even though non-European coverage is the pits. Perhaps we will get a report or two from outside Europe for the July 11 broadcast.
We are scheduling broadcasts for NAm listeners for later this month and next. We will let you know as soon as we have something to announce.

Glenn Hauser logs July 7, 2020
** CHINA. CNR1 jamming survey, July 7: at 1335, 13530 in Chinese, S7 to S9+10.
From 1340: 13070 S7-S9; 12880 S8-S9; 11440 S3-S4 with flutter; 11150* JBA; 11100 S6-S8; 11070 S1-S3.
At 1358: 14500, JBA carrier.
Rescan the above ranges shortly after 1400: ALL above frequencies off.
At 1453: 11460, JBA Chinese.
*BTW: the local wideband noiseblobs I first complained about weeks ago, at approx. 360-kHz intervals in the 7-11+ MHz range are still there but quite a bit weaker than originally; no doubt OG&E has quit working on that problem unless I keep after them. One peak QRMs the 11150 above, and another is centered about 9395, bad news for hearing anything on WRMI-6 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 13766 & 13635 approx., July 7 at 1339, JBA spurblobs out of 13700 RHC, plus & minus 64-65 kHz, trace of F# tones, first time detected in weeks, but hardly up to par. Something`s always wrong at RHC. 1446 recheck still trace about 13635 while 13700 rates S9 to S9+10 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 11880, July 7 at 1451, S9+20 open carrier already on warming up for CRI Plus relay in English, now restricted to only one hour from 1500. Unknown how much then managed to modulate (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** ITALY [non]. 7290, July 7 at 1756, via UTwente SDR, checking IRRS Tuesday since on Monday at least half of the following hour was dead air, possibly all of it instead of WORLD OF RADIO --- did anyone hear it then, or try to? Open carrier on at tune-in, VG signal with usual QRM de 7291 RTTY and splashes from 10 kHz plus and minus; a few sex before 1759 cut on modulation amid Aïda theme --- which is not always to be heard at all; just before 1800 very brief sign-on and right into `Feature Story News` for 5 minutes, not just headlines, starting with Bolsonaro gets it, CV situation in Australia; 1803 sports segment. 1805 no program intro but a fan of Danny Doyle starts talking and eventually plays a song of his; very Irish. He died last August, so this is not news now: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Doyle_(singer) Ireland, you know, is the real corporate HQ of IRRS, not Italy; tax haven?
1832 recheck, still modulating and `AWR Wavescan` is underway, same as heard earlier via Zambia, first item about past clandestines in New Hebrides/Vanuatu. Later about Gough Island, beyond Tristan da Cunha, whence we learn it`s pronounced Goff, as webresearch suggests, even tho there are no inhabitants now to ask. https://www.howtopronounce.com/gough Like ``cough`` tho one example is more like ``guff``. Recheck 1858 whether `WS` will get chopped off like Dan Roberts? Yes, IRRS sign-off at 1859, but only as Jeff is reciting the postal address in closing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SAUDI ARABIA. 11820.045, July 7 circa 2000, Arabic bits alternating with Qur`aning, JBA but sufficiently soporific to accompany my napping. This SBC always off+frequency plus (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 12050, July 7 at 1402, WEWN Spanish frequency is S9 of dead air; by 1450 recheck now is modulating RCC stuff. English still AWOL from 15610 at 1924 check, while 15825 WWCR, q.v., is 20 over 9 at about same megameter distance, different angle clockwiser (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 15825, July 7 at 1925, WWCR has sporadic E boost to S9+20, enhancing the #1 squeal, but wait, there`s MORE: Double audio at equal levels, not only TOMBS as scheduled, but some other gospel huxter aiming for children, including kidsongs about Jeezus. I compare to other WWCRs and other BS: 9980, WWCR-4 is blasting with Overcomer alone; 9455, WRMI likewise; not // other WWCRs, 12160 with political huxter, and 13845 with Dead Gene Scott; BTW, 13845 is relatively weak compared to 12160 & 15825, which does not make sense propagationally; must axually be underpowered.
But what is the second audio? At 2023 I concentrate on that for a while; maybe same program, closing with contact info including website several times, reallifewithjackkidd.org --- not sure about the Kidd as he never spells it. Also phone 877-777-2346, and P O Box 12, somewhere with ZIP 91709; 2025 into USA Radio News, which of course is also far-right, far-Christian slanted, a perfect fit.
91709 is Chino Hills, San Bernardino county, California. Since the other WWCR transmitters are otherwise occupied, could this be bleeding from co-located AM subsidiary, 1300 WNQM?
No program schedule at http://www.1300wnqm.com/ but does list programs for linkages without times at http://www.1300wnqm.com/pgm-links_wnqm.html but nothing resembling that described above.
Suddenlink search is smart enough to figure out it`s really this: https://reallifewithjackhibbs.org/
So direct look at it:
https://reallifewithjackhibbs.org/listen/
leading to what matches today`s very episode: ``Being A Christian While Being A Kid – C - July 7, 2020 - Colossians 1:9-14``
Those verses are about indoctrination, per my free NIV pocket ``The Way for Cowboys`` Bible handed out years ago at an Enid Expo home show. Of course, kids are religion-free until elders start implanting something. And thence to
https://reallifewithjackhibbs.org/stationlisting/
including, before I even get to Tennessee, filed between DC and Florida!:
``europe & africa
City Station Frequency Day & Time
Shortwave WWCR 15.825 MHz M-F 3:00 PM``
In Eu & Af you have to know to convert CDT to local time!
Never mind WNQM, not on the roster. Belatedly I check WWCR-1 program sked, and bingo, there is Real Radio, with Jack Hibbs M-F at 2000-2030 UT, so B.S. is the intruder now on 15825, not vice versa.
There is probably a pot dedicated to TOMBS on the audio mixer feeding #1 transmitter, which has been left open as well as the intended program source. Can it be that at 1300 WWCR Avenue, no one is listening to their own station? Then how can they expect anyone else to? I certainly would not unless I run across something wacko like this. Vying with RHC for SAWA status?
Paul Buch in California also noticed this double audio at 1905 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 15555-USB, July 7 at 1448, trace of talk i.e. WJHR Milton FL, seldom audible; much like the level of 15034-USB Trenton Military on hardly propagable band without sporadic E (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 27385-LSB, July 7 at 1930, pileup of freebanders on the most active frequency, with sporadic E regnant here and on regular CB channels, if not the 10m beaconband. One mentions ``on the shore of Lake Erie``; another, ``Kentucky``; at 1946, ``107, 14-14, Chicago ... 73s and enjoy your DX``. It seems the FBers have some kind of numerical ID system. Can anyone explain or even reference a roster? More such activity on 27375-LSB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
This report dispatched at 2202 UT July 7

Chinese jamming of AIR
Jamming by Chinese authorities of All India Radio’s broadcast to China on SW:
Question: How many days will it take for the Chinese agencies to find out and jam a new SW frequency of All India Radio beamed to China, whose old frequency they were jamming?
Answer: If the latest case is any indication, it is 6 days.
Case study:
AIR changed it SW frequencies to China on July 1, 2020 as follows:
Chinese 1145-1315 UTC 17595 kHz (replacing 17510)
Tibetan 1215-1330 UTC 9580 kHz (replacing 9450)
AIR changed it SW frequencies to China on July 1, 2020 as follows:
Chinese 1145-1315 UTC 17595 kHz (replacing 17510)
Tibetan 1215-1330 UTC 9580 kHz (replacing 9450)
However full jamming continued on the old frequencies till July 5, 2020 although these changes were reported in the Dx press even before it came into effect.
The jamming would start even before AIR begins its transmission and normally ends only after AIR signs off.
The jamming consists of programs in Chinese language and/or jamming noises.
On June 6, 2020 no jamming was noticed on the old frequencies but at around 1230 UTC the jamming started on the new frequencies.Jose Jacob, VU2JOS

Glenn Hauser logs July 6-7, 2020
** CUBA. 11670, July 7 at 0046, S9+10/20 of dead air from RHC; 11800 is also S9+10/20 but just barely modulated; always flanked by parasitic JBA spurs 11790 & 11810, no modulation audible as occasionally can achieve. Something`s always wrong at RHC. Was still tuned to 11670 after Spain check at 2200 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 9690 VG > 12030 G > 11940 F >> 11670 no signal, Monday July 6 tune-in shortly after 2200, REE already playing music, but soon Justin Coe about flamenco and jazz, the M/W/F English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9830, July 6 at 2203, no signal from VOT English to us, nor any NSS RTTY. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2041 monitoring: not confirmed the Monday July 6 at 1801 on IRRS 7290 via Bulgaria; did anyone hear it? I was late tuning in after lunch at 1831 and by then it was dead air! Carrier on vs RTTY 7291 warble and usual splatter from 7280 Vietnam, but no modulation; nor at recheck 1853 during which the SW Report should have partially aired. I fear that the first semihour was also dead. As monitored via UTwente SDR, of course.
No luck either UT Tuesday July 7 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, this one off the air, not even a JBA carrier, while the others on 7730 & 7570 were inbooming. 7780 still AWOL at 0125 and past 0200. Next:
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE
Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html

** U S A. 15610, July 6 at 2023 check; and 9385, July 7 at 0055 & 0323 chex, WEWN English still missing from both frequencies; but 5970 Spanish still extant at 0055 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** YEMEN [non]. 11860.012, July 7 at 0048, Qur`an and Cuban pulse jamming adding up to S7-S9, must be Republic of Yemen Radio via one of the Sa`udi sites. Seldom heard anymore, let alone in our mornings like it used to be, of course blocked by Radio Martí at 14-22, and Cuban jamming even prolonger. Not in HFCC A-20, nor anything from Sa`udi Arabia. Aoki shows ROYR sked as 02-23, EiBi and WRTH Update as 02-22, and this is after all the nightmiddle there. It might have expanded to 24h during Ramadan, but that`s long gone. Nothing else in any of them until China/Tibet after 0130 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Highlights of Solar and Geomagnetic Activity
29 June - 05 July 2020
Solar activity was very low. Region 2766 (N06 L=117, class/area
Bxo/beta on 04 Jul) was the only active region on the visible disk.
The region was in decay at the end of the reporting period.
Other activity included a DFS, approximately 18 degrees in length,
which erupted in the SE quadrant beginning around 05/0630 UTC.
Subsequent SOHO/LASCO C2 imagery showed the related CME signature
after 05/1412 UTC. Analysis for an Earth-directed component is
ongoing.
No proton events were observed at geosynchronous orbit.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux at geosynchronous orbit was at
normal background to moderate levels.
Geomagnetic field activity ranged from quiet to unsettled. Unsettled
levels were observed on 01 Jul due to sustained southward Bz and on
04-05 Jul in response to a positive polarity CH HSS. The remainder
of the summary period was at quiet levels under nominal solar wind
conditions.
Forecast of Solar and Geomagnetic Activity
06 July - 01 August 2020
Solar activity is expected to be at very low levels throughout the
outlook period.
No proton events are expected at geosynchronous orbit.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux at geosynchronous orbit is
expected to be normal background to moderate levels throughout the
outlook period.
Geomagnetic field activity is expected to be at quiet to unsettled
levels. A recurrent positive polarity CH HSS is expected to cause
isolated unsettled levels on 06 Jul and again on 31 Jul - 01 Aug.
The remainder of the outlook period is expected to be at quiet
levels. Analysis and modeling of the 5 Jul CME is not complete and
the presence of an Earth-directed component is possible.

** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey July 6 from 1341: 12190 JBA; 12210 S5-S7 Chinese; 12500 S6-S8 CC; 12550 JBA carrier; 12870 S8-S9 CC; 12880 JBAC;
From 1344: 13070 JBA; 13130 S6-S7 CC; 13160 S6-S7 CC.
From 1347: 14500 JBAC; 10820 JBAC; 10920 S1-S3 CC/music; 11120 S2-S8; 11170 JBAC; 11460 JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** KOREA NORTH. 6045, July 6 at 1339, nothing but noise jamming. Ron Howard upon Asilomar State Beach, California, agrees: ``KOREA NORTH/SOUTH. 6045, Voice of Freedom, on 1119+, on July 6. Totally blocked by super strong white noise jamming from N. Korea. The former enjoyable reception of VOF has come to an end for the time being!``
I also have an unjammed? signal on 5990, presumably Echo of Hope, South to North Korea as Ron also confirms (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** KOREA NORTH. 13760.2, July 6 at 1346, JBA carrier presumed still VOK knocked off frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2041 monitoring: confirmed new time of 0030 UT Monday July 6 on WRMI 7730, VG S9+10/20, the only frequency on 285-degree azimuth from Okee, which crosses: Houston TX; just south of Nogales, Sonora; right on Honolulu; Port Moresby; but plenty signal here 30 degrees offbeam, second only to 315 on 7570, 5850. Just prior at 0029.5, an Allen Graham in Quito ID and a fragment of Bob Zanotti in Berne, all he gets out is his name before I interrupt him without intending to.
Also confirmed UT Monday July 6 at 0130 on WRMI 7780, S9/+10 vs high storm noise level almost exactly off the side of this 44-degree beam; this time at 0129.5 a Rudy Espinal ID, and again a fragment of BZ, why?
Also confirmed UT Monday July 6 at 0230 on WRMI 7780, VG at Maine SDR
Also confirmed UT Monday July 6 starting at 0301:45 on Area 51 via WBCQ 5130, S9+10/20 including storm crashes.
Also confirmed UT Monday July 6 at 0330 on WRMI 9955, VG at TWR Bonaire; good at Pardinho SP Brasil where slight jamming is audible under. Next:
1800vUT Monday IRRS 7290 Bulgaria to WNW, 594-Italy
0100 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW

``Also July 6 at 0500, zero signal from WEWN on 9385 kHz, scheduled 0000-0900 UT -- 73! Ivo Ivanov`` --- So their English transmitter(s) down (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 17815, Monday July 6 at 1452, open carrier S9/+10, quickly turned off. Probably WHRI test; available 14-21 daily but normally used only on Sundays --- or so I thought until checking
https://familybroadcastingcorporation.com/whr/whr-iframe-page/?search=Angel1 which claims `Angel 1` runs 17.815 every day at 19-22 except for a switch to 17540 at 2105-2130, which I also find hard to believe; exaggerated scheduling beyond axual SW usage? Mostly just Music with IRN News on the hour, hardly worth the watts.
It also claims Angel 6 on 7385 not only most of the night, but all day long! Don`t you believe it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
This report dispatched at 1707 UT July 6
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780 to NE

** ALGERIA [non]. 13820, Saturday July 4 at 1830, RTA International via FRANCE, again with beepery, but no English, just Arabic, 1836 into Spanish with lite French accent but also has to pronounce properly names in Arabic. Via UTwente SDR. Richard Langley, NB reports there was no English during entire 18-19 hours July 3 or 4:
``It seems they take pieces of the different language segments from the programs on their Internet/FM/satellite broadcasts (in English, for example): https://www.radioalgerie.dz/rai/en/emissions/list
Some information (in English) about Radio Algérie Internationale: https://www.radioalgerie.dz/rai/en/emissions/list%EF%BB%BF
The "funky" transmitter was used again today for the international broadcast. -- Richard Langley`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 12200, July 5 at 0607, RHC English, undermodulated S9 vs CODAR, unlike fundamental 6100. Maybe Esperanto at 0700 was on 12200 too? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** DJIBOUTI [non]. 17870, Sunday July 5 at 1401, no signal here from LV de Djibouti as scheduled, but a poor/fair signal via UTwente, spotchecked rest of hour, all talk in unknown language until 1458 a bit of HOA vocal music and off 1459*. I notified the WOR iog of this ASAP but at presstime only Ivo Ivanov replied at 1859:
``Good signal here, 1400 in Afar, 1415 in Somali, 1430 in French, 1445 in Arabic and 1457 again in Afar. Probably tx is Secretbrod [BULGARIA] or per Aoki is Grigoriopol [PRIDNESTROVYE]``.
Website provides audio and texts of broadcasts in May, which were then weekly, but none since 22 May: https://lavoixdedjibouti.info/
Christian Ghibaudo reported on June 21 to bdxc-news: ``The latest broadcast is on their Facebook page. It's June 19, there is a weekly broadcast on Friday (Radio Vendredi). They broadcast again on shortwave because the government of Djibouti has cut the Internet in the country, making listening difficult. The association La Voix de Djibouti is based in Paris. Regards from Sunny Nice, Christian Ghibaudo.``

** OKLAHOMA. Re my 1270 KRXO log now //107.9 translator, Chris KC5IIE, Krug, Tulsa, replies: ``Oops! I stand corrected Glenn, 107.7 "The Franchise" is in OKC, that explains why I don`t hear it. 107.9 is the FM outlet for 1270 KRXO, it is simulcasting their programming. Sorry for the confusion, 73 and Happy 4th!`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** U S A. ``Hello Glenn, Happy 4th of July, Based on SDR trolling and some listener check-ins, the WBCQ 4th of July in the Park should have done OK near you although there was some storm activity in parts of the region. The next special will be Labor Day, again a multi-program effort. Although I am serving as cat-herder as Uncle Bill, the larger purpose is to showcase WBCQ's music programs generally, and I hope that the other programs (Marion's Attic, Behavior Night, Lost Discs, Rock Wave and others) also attract new listeners, and perhaps this might even inspire some aspiring radio host to start a new program as well. At a minimum, we hope to serve as a reminder that music on licensed broadcast shortwave (not just pirates) is very much alive. Best, William "Bill" Tilford, Owner/Producer, Tilford Productions, LLC`` 0222 UT July 5. My reply:
``Hi Bill, Enjoyed it. Since I was at the computer instead of the SW radio, I could not resist listening via the WBCQ stream. I am ashamed? Anyhow some of it was in $tereo and the scratches were clearer, hi. As you know, SW from `BCQ is not the best here, even without storms, and especially without 500 kW. In scheduling, you might want to consider possible competition from --- TV, as PBS, CNN and NBC were all starting their 4OJ specials at same time. Your fireworx were hard to see``
We proudly flew the American Flag all day (as well as on Flag Day) until sunset; the only one visible in our neighborhood. (There used to be a constant Confederate flag a block south, but maybe it wore out). (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 15610, July 4 at 2010, zero signal from WEWN, not even a JBA carrier which is normally there at minimum afternoons; while 15825 WWCR is S9+10/20; 15770 WRMI S7-S9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 93.1, July 5 at 1823 UT, ``Detroit`s New Country 93-1`` briefly over CCI from KS. WTFDA FM Database:
``WDRQ 93.1 DETROIT MI 26.5 kW H&V, 204.0 m HAAT, 42-28-16 83-12-03 HD COUNTRY NEW COUNTRY 93.1`` 1433 km = 890 stmi city-to-Enid

Andy Robins, Kalamazoo, was getting 10m beacons from all over, including OK, 18-19 UT. Sporadic E MUF was way above 100 MHz in spots, so I have been DXing in two sessions before and after lunch, but little to show for it, mainly traces of DX CCI to fringe semi-open frequencies. Quit at 1832. unIDs include:
1732, 92.1 mentions Hagerstown, likely MD or IN, but none right there
1734, 106.7, CCI to OK Spanish
1739, 95.3, CCI to KOKC translator
1744, 93.1, trace of Spanish CCI to KS
(Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** ZAMBIA. 11680, Sunday July 5 at 0600, AWR Wavescan #593 via VOHA, good S9, another episode about early radio in New Hebrides/Vanuatu (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 27385-LSB, July 4 around 2000, very active freebander channel, in English, yet no beacons audible above 28200 --- so sharp Es MUF cutoff between them ATM? BTW, why does everyone on CB speak with an exaggerated GOB Southern accent; required? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
