Glenn Hauser logs September 2, 2018

** ANGUILLA [non]. 11775, Sept 2 at 1418, CB is OFF even tho it`s Sunday, as their sporadic appearances continue. However, leaves 11780 RNA Brasil with no ACI (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 11980, Sept 2 at 0145, JBA carrier, probably RHC leapfrog as IDed before, 11700 over 11840 another 140 kHz beyond. Also suffers splash from huge dirty RHC fundamental on 12000. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

12114.40, Sept 2 at 0146, JBA in Spanish, probably RHC, but I have only one receiver handy at the moment so no // check. Then I find a match on 11885.6, so that nails these down as spurs of 12000 RHC, exactly plus and minus 114.4 kHz. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENNG DIGEST)

** NETHERLANDS [non]. 5960, Sept 2 at 0125 JBA carrier, but not at 0143. Mighty KBC via GERMANY will move here next week at 0000-0200 UT Sundays. Currently in Aoki/NDXC on 5960 is 100 kW from PBS Xinjiang, Urumqi, East Turkistan at 2300-0257, tsk2. Current KBC frequency for the last time this year, 9925, is also JBA carrier at 0143 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6959.95, Sept 2 at 0132, JBA AM carrier and still at 0149 when I measure it. No logs in HFUnderground now, but a few days ago Radio Illuminati was reported on this off-frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1945 monitoring: confirmed UT Sunday September 2 at 0336 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, Wentzville MO, 14 minutes into show so started circa 0322; poor in storm noise level.

** U S A. 5085, UT Sunday September 2 at 0601, WTWW with classic rock songs, S9+30, presumably in ToH pause/news hole during `Southern Talk in the Midnight` which has been running for several weeks at 0500-0700; so I keep listening for the second hour to resume, but it does not! Instead at 0609 still music, solo rendition of ``America, the Beautiful``, then pulls the plug at 0612* off the air! STITM must be gone again from WTWW. Own website http://www.tennhills-productions.com/
Still claims to be ``from Tennessee`` and ``the great south east`` but references to WTWW have been deleted. Still has a logo for KCAA 1050 +FMs in California, but labeled as a ``past affiliate`` --- that leaves only the 13-watt KYAH 540, ``Utah`s Talk Authority``, where the time is given as ``10PM - Saturday Nights PST - 12AM CST``! What does that mean? PST and CST are not observed anywhere except Saskatchewan. Meaning start times? Had been at 12 AM CDT = 0500 UT. So was the first hour anyway on 5085? It`s not mentioned at wtww.us but IIRC hadn`t been during the period it was really on the air.

BTW, Kenneth Vito Zichi has been raving about the sound quality during WTWW rock music shows --- altho very strong and wideband, I find the distortion level annoying (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VIETNAM [non]. 7315, Sept 2 at 0136, VOV relay via WHRI is in stilted English! Not stilted Spanish as supposed to start at 0130. It`s S9+40/50 with news of flooding, medals in Asian Games, Indonesia (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7299.5-CW, Sept 2 at 0138, contact not hand-keyed, reply from a weaker station. What are hams doing with CW in this part of band? Or intruders? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 13623-USB, Sept 2 at 1349, JBA 2-way in Spanish, INTRUDERS (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 15292-USB, Sept 2 at 1414, INTRUDERS, good signals in 2-way contact, colloquial Spanish, mixed with totally unrecognizable words, native language? At least I can make out ``puta`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
