** ANGUILLA. 11775, Fri Aug 31 at 1357, CB is off again after sporadicappearances this week (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** AUSTRALIA [non]. 9265V, Saturday Sept 1 at 1213, Hobart Radio International, The Voice of Tasmania, via Unique Radio, NSW, via WINB, Pennsylvania. S9 with carrier wobble listening in SSB but not heard in AM; 1226 some 48m Europirate logs with SINPOs, fading here to S5; 1230 Andean music during Unique Radio contact info and intro WORLD OF RADIO 1945, new relay which starts at 1231:21, until 1300:03 when Tim Gaynor resumes his own show `Sounds of Your Life` with mailbag as his WINB block has been extended to 1330, a.k.a. ``World community radio from Australia``. So now SOYL is 1100-1130 & 1300-1330, with three DX programs in between: 1130 `International Radio Report` from CKUT, 1200 HRI, and 1230 WOR. Thanks, Tim!
Podcast of the whole thing is at: https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/uniqueradio/episodes/2018-09-01T06_23_32-07_00 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BANGLADESH. 15505, Sept 1 at 1358, 1 kHz tone from JBA Bangladesh Betar, 1358:31 IS, 1359:57.5 mis-timesignal ends 10.5 seconds earlier than two days ago; opening Urdu (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CHINA [non]. 13740, Sept 1 at 1403, open carrier, dead air except for perpetual squeal, from Cuban relay transmitter; even carrier break for a few seconds at 1404:25; finally JIP China Plus in English under-modulation from 1406:39, having missed the ``news`` completely. Thus the ChiCom continue to be shortchanged by their Cuban lackeys attempting the relays (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. 13633 & 13767, Aug 31 at 1329, trace of distorted FM blobs from RHC 13700-AM transmitter are all it can manage today; something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA [and non]. 11860, Fri Aug 31 at *1400:43, Greenville cuts on carrier late vs. jamming already running, joining Radio Martí modulation at 1401:15 but soon dumps off air; back on with carrier at *1402:07, and modulation stays from 1402:49, well atop jamming.
Thus RM concludes its third week on 11860, colliding directly with RHC after 1930. Saturday Sept 1 at 1403, no RM as it rests another weekend, but wall-of-noise jamming continues anyway; something`s always wrong at the DentroCuban Jamming Command (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** KIRITIMATI. 846, Sept 1 at 0612, R. Kiribati continues to put a JBA carrier in here 7200 km = 4474 stmi = 3888 nmi away (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 870, Sept 1 at 1210, I hear a bit of the Mexican NA by a solo voice, 1211 some YL talk maybe unSpanish, smacking of XETAR, La Voz de la Sierra Tarahumara, Guachochi, Chihuahua, which I have been trying to confirm still on the air, but unheard today or othermornings from nominal *1200 for a daytimer in the summer; apparently flexible. Today at 1200 I was getting otherSpanish, surely KLSQ Nevada [see USA]. The only other western Mexican on 870 is XEFIL in Mazatlán; neither is on Tim Hall`s roster of stations he has confirmed to have left AM for FM (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 1 at 0607, VON is AWOL again (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** NORTH AMERICA. 7470, Sept 1 at 0437, YHWH is S9 but undermodulated,in very strange conditions lacking anything extracontinental on the band, stronger than weakened 7505 WRNO, about equal to attenuated 7570 WRMI and stronger than 7730.
Also vs. high local (line?) noise level at S7, but which peaks worst at S9+10 in the 3.7-5.5 MHz range, rather wiping out any DX on the 60mband. Below 3.7 it`s only S9, and by 9 MHz only S1. I can`t find any household device causing it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** OKLAHOMA. 515 kHz, Aug 31 at 0623 UT, NDB PN in Ponca City, a semi-local always audible day & night, has developed quite a chirp, i.e. pitch of tone wobbles as each letter is keyed (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1945 monitoring: confirmed Thursday August 30 at 2330 on WBCQ 9330.15, fair --- first time heard on 9330V irregular schedule since Tuesday August 7! But not 24 hours later.
Checking Saturday Sept 1 after 1431 on Utwente SDR for WOR on Hamburger Lokalradio, 6190-CUSB, nothing heard until a trace by 1457.
Alan Gale, England, reports: ``Hi Glenn, Very odd propagation from HLR on 6190 kHz today. It was coming in well here from around 1230 UT, even good in the AM mode, but typically dropped down in strength at around 1425 and was then up and down in QSB right till the end of your programme, with just a couple of peaks in strength at around 1440 and 1450. I had to switch to CUSB to hear the rest of the info. I guess that now we are into September we'll see the propagation on 6 MHz changing a lot in the coming weeks.`` Next:

** U S A. 9955, UT Fri Aug 31 at 0322 on BST-1 caradio, Chinese music I was sure coming from a CRI relay, until I heard in Morse code the memory frequency tuned. After WRMI ID, 0330 on to `Sounding the Alarm` gospel huxter. Announced date of original broadcast which was May 17, 2016; so here we are 27.5 months later as the world keeps turning. Scheduled at 0315 UT Tue-Sat is `Moments in Bible Prophecy` --- so that failed to default music fill (but not the usual variety of World Music), or maybe the Moments occupy much less than the 14 minute slot? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 870, Sept 1 at 1200 UT, Spanish loops E/W, only catch ``870`` in ToH ID, into sports talk, making SAH of about 9 Hz with WWL remnant to 1207 UT fadeout. This all points to KLSQ Whitney NV (Las Vegas), 5000/430 watts U2, ESPN-D. Official FCC September sunrise is 1315 UT, so should have been on 430-watt night power and direxional to the NW --- but I bet it`s really 5 kW ND day pattern. No PSRA for it is known to the new NRC AM Log. Of course I was looking for XETAR; see MEXICO (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
