Antenna loop in ferrite per OL e OM
L’ampliamento della rete Internet, a cui abbiamo assistito nell’ultimo decennio, ha consentito anche di ottenere moltissimi progressi nel campo delle comunicazioni. Oggi è normale seguire una trasmissione radiofonica o televisiva, prodotta in qualsiasi parte del mondo, in diretta streaming. I vantaggi sono il superamento delle distanze e un’impeccabile qualità della ricezione. Occorrono un computer di un corrente livello tecnologico e una connessione abbastanza veloce. Quasi tutte le stazioni televisive e radiofoniche, in parallelo alle loro trasmissioni digitali, propongono anche la emissione in streaming. Ma i vantaggi non si limitano a questo: le stazioni hanno anche un archivio podcasting che consente di riascoltare a piacimento tutte le passate trasmissioni. Tutto questo con i costi abbastanza limitati, tanto che i responsabili delle varie emittenti hanno deciso di eliminare del tutto o ridurre sensibilmente le trasmissioni analogiche. Nei passati anni, i BroadCasting Listeners (BCL) sono stati testimoni dello smantellamento di una miriade di impianti di radiodiffusione in tutte le gamme d’onda. Stiamo assistendo ad un’evoluzione epocale, alla stessa stregua del passaggio dalla valvola termoionica al transistor. Come allora, si guarda con diffidenza ai nuovi sistemi di diffusione delle notizie: molti hanno la nostalgia del tipico segnale radio evanescente.
Ormai è stato raggiunto un punto di non ritorno per cui non credo che in futuro le cose possano tornare ai livelli precedenti. Molte stazioni europee, compresa la nostra RAI, hanno seguito questo corso: in Italia, ad esempio, la rete delle onde medie è stata quasi tutta smantellata; restano in piedi sporadici ripetitori, mentre i siti che trasmettevano in onde lunghe e onde corte, non esistono più. Un quadro davvero sconsolante che, a detta di molti BCL, è indegno di una nazione civile. L’argomento è molto complesso e non credo che si possa sviscerare in questa sede. Ma la chiusura di molte stazioni europee, in tutte le gamme, ha modificato lo scenario della ricezione radiofonica: infatti, si sono liberate molte frequenze sulle quali trasmettono stazioni, un tempo, difficilissime da ricevere perché stoppate dai segnali molto forti delle emittenti europee. Come dire: non tutti i mali vengono per nuocere. Il preambolo è servito per presentare i vantaggi della realizzazione dell’antenna che propongo e che rappresenta il perfezionamento di altre antenne già costruite.
Anche questa antenna, composta da due sezioni, una per le onde medie (OM) e l’altra per le onde lunghe (OL) è stata concepita per essere usata con ricevitori provvisti di antenna interna composta da ferrite. Vi rimando al mio sito (http://webalice.it/ it9tzz/radioascolto/antenne/antenna loop per onde medie ) per trovare il progetto di un’antenna loop adatta a lavorare con un ricevitore professionale. La costruzione dell’antenna loop in ferrite è molto semplice e segue lo schema elettrico della figura 1 nel quale l’avvolgimento primario L1 (OM) è composto da 35 spire di filo di rame smaltato da 0,20 mm di diametro avvolto su un nucleo composto da tre ferriti unite assieme. L’avvolgimento L2 (OL) è composto da 120 spire di filo di rame smaltato da 0,20 mm di diametro avvolto su un nucleo composto da altre tre ferriti unite assieme. I due avvolgimenti sono inseriti in due tubi di PVC di canalina per impianti elettrici e, tramite un doppio deviatore, fanno capo, alternativamente, ad un condensatore variabile dai valori minimo e massimo di 50- 250 pF recuperato da una radiolina per le onde medie.

Tengo a precisare che il numero di spire viene ricavato in via sperimentale monitorando il comportamento degli avvolgimenti in modo che essi “coprano”, chiudendo e aprendo il condensatore variabile, tutto lo spettro delle due gamme. Solo allora si potranno inserire gli avvolgimenti nei rispettivi tubi e incastrando questi ultimi nelle due scatole di derivazione cilindriche (5). Una delle due scatole accoglierà il tubo (4) di diametro leggermente inferiore a quello del tubo (3) incastrato nella base (2). In tal modo tutta la struttura sarà libera di ruotare a 360°. Ho preferito adottare questa soluzione meccanica invece di far ruotare l’apparecchio radio. Il tutto appoggerà su una base di compensato che garantirà la stabilità e sulla quale verranno montati gli altri componenti presenti nello schema elettrico: il doppio deviatore, il condensatore variabile, quello in ceramica e un interruttore in miniatura.
La funzione del doppio deviatore è stata già descritta; il condensatore variabile servirà a sintonizzare la frequenza delle stazioni radio. Il segnale, ricevuto in modo molto più sostanzioso, si trasferirà per induzione all’antenna di ferrite interna al ricevitore con notevole vantaggio sotto il profilo del rendimento dell’apparecchio radio. Per mezzo di un piccolo interruttore S2 si potrà inserire, quando sarà necessario, un condensatore ceramico addizionale CA di valore fisso da 330-470 pF che servirà a “coprire“ la parte bassa delle onde medie o delle onde lunghe. Accertarsi, sempre in fase sperimentale e di collaudo, che il valore del condensatore permetta la copertura completa della gamma. Adesso qualche suggerimento tecnico che, oltre ai disegni, permetterà una discreta realizzazione. Per fissare al compensato i componenti ho utilizzato delle puntine da disegno di ottone alle quali ho tolto la parte di plastica. Per il collaudo delle antenne agire come segue. Disporre il ricevitore sulla base, sotto i rotori che costituiscono le antenne e sintonizzare una frequenza sulla quale operi una stazione di debole potenza. Selezionare, con il doppio deviatore, la banda desiderata nella quale trasmette la stazione sintonizzata. Ruotare il cursore del condensatore variabile fino ad osservare un aumento sensibile del rendimento dell’apparecchio, segno che l’antenna ha catturato e trasferito alla ferrite del ricevitore il segnale ricevuto. Direzionare le ferriti per ottimizzare l’ascolto. Eventualmente inserire il condensatore addizionale per sintonizzare le stazioni che operano nella parte bassa della gamma. Quest’antenna è meno influenzata dal rumore atmosferico, appare con una sensibilità spiccata; l’alta permeabilità delle ferriti consente di ottenere alti valori di induttanza grazie a poche spire. Sotto quest’ultimo aspetto essa è adatto ad un uso outdoor, considerando le ridotte dimensioni. Con questa antenna, davvero fenomenale, ho potuto ascoltare dalla Sicilia: Radio Studio X operante da Momigno (PT), Sunrise Radio da Londra, Radio Vacanza dalla Romania, County Sound Radio da Guildford (750 W) Radio Euskadi dalla Spagna, Cosmo Radio dalla Grecia e tante altre. Il ricevitore usato, che si intravede in qualche fotografia, era un Panasonic RF-B65 a sintonia digitale.
