** CANADA. 266-MCW kHz, Feb 19 at 0722 UT, dash and XD, 32-watt NDB at Edmonton, Alberta. 2257 km = 1403 miles, or 43.8 miles per watt.
I used to get occasionally high-power Edmonton CFRN-TV, NTSC analog channel 3, always a treat so close to the sporadic-E single-hop max. Sesquidecades ago I could not have imagined that years later, CFRN would abandon analog and channel 3 for DTV on unskippable ch 12. However, per http://www.w9wi.com/web/tv-states/AB.html it does now have 12 relays/translators around the province from very low to medium power, including one each on ch 2, 3, 4.
335-MCW kHz, Feb 19 at 0730 UT, dash and YLD, 1000-watt NDB at Chapleau, Ontario. Fell asleep before reaching top of band. Lotsa sigs but lightning crashes from storm front across central Gulf of Mexico difficultized copy. A few more: USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CANADA. 2749-USB, Feb 20 at 0215 UT marine weather in French by roboyl is VP S8-S9 about the same as noise level; haven`t had decent copy of these in weeks due to NL and/or propagation. DXinfocentre.com shows the broadcast as this hour would have started at 0140 from VAR-9 Yarmouth NS with 1200 watts but apparently originating in (Halifax).
2598-USB at 0215 is even weaker JBA. That would be from 0207 UT, VOJ-6, 400 watts from Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland, SW corner of the Rock, where I once entered NL off the ferry from Sydney (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CANADA. 6660-RCUSB, Feb 20 at 0255, CHU second harmonic presumed. Harold Frodge in MARE has reported this a number of times and I`ve been intending to dig deeper for it. At first only voice/SSB QRM and strong uteblaaps, and no reduced carrier even detected, but briefly hear some CHUish chirpips; still uncopied at top of minute beep nor preceding voice announcement (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 13630 & 13769, Feb 19 at 1457, today`s spurblobs from 13700-AM are quite weak but marked by their F# tones, appox. 69-70 kHz above and below. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 5910, Feb 20 at 0315, CRI relay is S9+55! of dead air --- almost, a bit of mod peak trying to break thru. Wiggle that patchcord! Despite the silence, stepping across the bandwidth with BFO encounters lots of ``sub-carriers`` especially in the 5900-5905 and 5915-5920 ranges. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 4030-AM, Feb 20 at 0257 pirate music VP S8-S9, occasional running-H2O QRM; no TOH break but song lyrix are ``Smoky Mountain Rain``; later peaking to S9+20; 0320 still going at that level, and past 0332. Last check 0335 just in time to hear YL with e-mail address including Ballsmacker. Many more logs here https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,78258.0.html between 0158 and 0335. KMD3HR in central Florida explains: ``03:00 Smokey Mountain Rain Amateur Radio Operator Ronnie Milsap WB4KCG Blind Country Music prodigy! Mandrells as Backup singers`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6933-USB, Feb 20 at 0228, pirate music, poor S5-S6; 0230 YL? DJ mentions ``another 45 minutes``, ``This is the --??-- family coming at you on the 4th of July`` and song ``Rollin` on the River``; 0230 stops and stays off for next few minutes. Many more unID logs here altho a couple heard ``Outhouse Radio``: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,78255.0.html But then Outhouse Radio itself replies, ``NOPE, wasn`t me``. From as early as 0121 there were lots of long pauses, but no one else reports it after 0230 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 257-MCW kHz, Feb 19 at 0717 UT, FWC, 25-watt NDB at Fairfield - Wayne County, Illinois, mixing with something even weaker; tuned to 255-USB still in absence of SW, Stillwater OK.
263-MCW kHz, Feb 19 at 0720 UT, CVM, 25-watt NDB at Alton - CiVic Memorial, Illinois.
305-MCW kHz, Feb 19 at 0727 UT, RO, 150-watt NDB at Roswell, New Mexico. I was tuned to 303-USB. Lotsa sigs but lightning crashes from storm front across central Gulf of Mexico difficultized copy. A few more: CANADA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 3455-USB, Feb 20 at 0309, ATC with JBA United flight citing VHF frequencies, also at least twice, ``primary 5598, 3016 secondary`` -- so does that make this 3455 tertiary? New York Radio, testing a selcall. EiBi confirms NYR is here, but also San Francisco operating remote transmitters in Hawaii and Guam for Central and Western Pacific routes, all available 24 hours; and something from Shannon too on 3455. NYR site is bg-Barnegat, NJ 39N45-74W23'30". Barnegat is quite a ways from NYC in southern NJ, between the Garden State Parkway and Long Beach barrier island, site of MW-DX peditions; and about 20 miles from Tuckerton, another erstwhile utesite (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 7290.15-AM, Feb 20 at 0321, W4SVA courteously asks at least twice, ``is the frequency in use?`` Evidently not, except for him now: ``W4SVA USA flag USA, William C Props, Mount Solon, VA 22843. I enjoy repairing and operating vintage tube type boatanchor equipment. You'll find me mostly on CW and AM,`` says his qrz.com page illustrating some of them (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (6159.9v), UT Sat Feb 20 at 0100, webcast of WBCQ with `AAAWWW` --- as expected starts right off lamenting demise of beloved Rush --- I can`t continue listening but make spotchex every 10 or 15 minutes, noting some of what John Carver mentions more completely:
``Tonight's AAWWW --- Program started on time on 7490 and 6160. Allan and Angela drinking in a chilly Fla. Opening talk about the death of Roach Limbaugh and how he saved talk radio. Then he gave Angela a rundown on the history of talk radio. Allan champions free speech radio and was opposed to the fairness doctrine and credits Limbaugh with the demise of the fairness doctrine and responsible for free speech radio. He also stated that at some point WBCQ would air the interview that Limbaugh conducted with Donald Trump. Angela states that she wishes WBCQ could have broadcasted the Limbaugh program. She also manages a few jabs at Biden and champions Trump.
Allan announces that they are adding a new segment to the show every week called Angela's Angle. Her first talk is about free speech and the lack of it in this country. She also states that this country was born on the bible and the gun. Then she moves to the sense of entitlement that the youth of this country seem to be infected with. She also touches on racism and implies that it is the battle cry of the left. Her segment was announced as a five or ten minute commentary but it takes up a good portion of the program.
Reading of emails at 0153 which turns out to mostly be a Roach fest. Program ended at 0200 without a closing prayer. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 4230.0-CW, Feb 20 at 0304, random pips, not Morse code, some long irregular strings and pauses. FAIK could be somethin` blowin` in the wind (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
