** CHILE. 12365-USB, June 10 at 2300 and further chex thru 2358, NO signal from
the coastal station which might have been relaying broadcast coverage of a Copa
América game involving Chile, as had been forecast in the A-DX list previously
quoted. Nor did other DXLD yg members who tried to hear it. This scheduling was
far in advance, so I wonder if it would hold during a long tournament depending
on who`s winning and losing?
Anyhow, one more game time is supposedly
June 15 at 0000 UT, presumably meaning UT Wednesday? A little research on the
MLSsoccer.com website finds that Chile did beat Bolivia 2-1 June 10, played in
the Rose Bowl, so it`s a soccer field now? But as a game over, the time has been
deleted. And the next Chile game is June 14 vs Panamá in Levi`s Stadium, Santa
Clara at 8 pm ET which does = 0000 UT June 15. But don`t expect a SW relay then
either. Once upon a time, LTA Argentina would also transmit important games on
HF SSB, presumably to Antarctic bases (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** CHINA. 15570, June 10 at 2347, dramatic music and reading in
Chinese at S5-S7, CNR1 jammer vs RFA Chinese via Tinian during this hour
only.
16300, June 10 at 2348, Chinese at S1, barely // 15570, so that
confirms both are CNR1 jammers. 16300 is getting to be quite a reliable
frequency for this (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA.
12230.00-AM, June 10 at 2321, very weak S1 signal in Spanish, naturally
suggesting something from RHC --- yes, soon matched // 11670, 11760 and 11840.
NOT // 11950, since during this hour only on weekdays, it`s separate RHC
programming, TV simulcast of `Mesa Redonda`. But 11950 is halfway between 11670
and 12230, so the latter is a leapfrog mixing product. I came to the same
conclusion on April 11 as in DXLD 16-15. Recheck at 2359, 12230 is gone as 11950
has just signed off. OOB tuning for no Chile on 12365 is not a total loss.
This time I look for more saults over 11950: 11760 would land on 12140,
and indeed there is a JBA carrier there at 2327 June 10, and no fundamentals are
scheduled at this hour on 12140. 11880 at 2358 June 10 is still on in English
and its transit over 11950 would land on 12020, where there is indeed a JBA
carrier. 11840 would not appear on 12060 as it`s from a different site, and
besides, it might QRM the second harmonic of 6030 jamming.
19420, June 10
at 2353, JBA carrier here, which would be 2 x 9710 RHC; nothing heard on 19070
which would be 2 x 9535. 17730 fundamental is blasting in (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX

** ROMANIA. 9760, June 10 at 2337, violin/piano
classical music, S4-S6, bringing to mind RRI, a rare SW station daring to play
this supreme genre of music, but only in bits. As I continue bandscanning, June
10 at 2342, Spanish on 13730, at S5-S7 and find it to be // 9760. Onward to
15400, S3-S5 and // again. All of which are scheduled RRI Spanish, but I measure
the last one rather off, 15399.97; azimuths respectively are 280, 247 and 247,
and the fourth frequency I missed was 11795, another 280 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** SPAIN. 17855, June 10 at 2056, REE is still AWOL
from 17855, its North American frequency, while a poor S9 on 17715; and S9+10 on
// 15500 both aimed elsewhere. So is one of their transmitters kaput, or
possibly a QSY as yet unfound? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
**
THAILAND. 15589.93, June 10 at 2346 as I tune in, a tone test starts, but off
within a minute. No doubt it`s IBB Udon Thani, tuning up for the HSK9 broadcast
to North America starting at 0000. Quite weak, and remeasured at 0005 I get
15589.94 --- somewhere in there (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1829 monitoring: On ACB Radio
Mainstream, WOR times confirmed Fri June 10 as 1600 and 2200, part of 3-hourly
rotation which would have started at 0100. However, as Tim Hendel earlier noted,
they are playing last week`s episode 1828. Hearing this at 1600, I notified
ACBRM, but it was still 1828 at 2200. So next week, will it be 1830 or 1829?
Those who don`t want to miss a week must keep track of the program numbers or
dates and go after lacking ones elsewhere.
WOR 1829 confirmed Friday June
10 a 2130 on WRMI 15770, good; and at 2130.5 on WRMI 13695, excellent. Also
confirmed Fri June 10 at 2330 on WBCQ 9329.96-CUSB, good S9+20. Next:

** U S A. 7489.9, June 11 at 0000, WBCQ with ``William Tell
Overture``, theme for `Allan Weiner Worldwide` which he interrupts with
teasers/comments, and says the tune still excites him. 0003 says video streaming
of him in the studio is running this week via UStream and WBCQ website; also on
SW 5130, 3250 and 7490. I`ve already checked the lower two, and this early
almost a bihour before sunset here, 5129.9 is JBA and 3250v is inaudible. Goes
on to talk about WBCQ transmitters, including a BC-610 from WW II for backup;
also some navy sets from 1944-1945, and a 500-watt one (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
