Glenn Hauser logs May 13, 2015

** ANGUILLA [non]. 11775, May 13 at 1356, no CBB, just a JBA carrier, presumably CNR1 jamming or VOA Chinese via Philippines (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** AUSTRALIA [and non]. 12085, May 13 at 1351, R. Australia, `Daily Planet` of world music, but with rapid low-pitched pulsing, ChiCom jamming? Centered more like 12084. Or possibly OTH radar but not wideband. Or own transmitter out of order. Never heard this here before. RA // 12065 as always much weaker, but in the clear (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** BRAZIL. 11815, May 13 at 0523, weak music presumably R. Brasil Central as always smashed by the crackling spur from 11780 Brasilia, matched by // 11745 with nothing to QRM at the moment (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1090, May 13 at 0507, Spanish talk from SSW is dominant, about Mexican politix, better offtuned to 1088-1089 to minimize KRLD IBOC from 1080. Presumed XEAU Monterrey NL, Milenio Radio (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 1120, May 13 at 1654 UT on caradio, KEOR/KETU Catoosa/Sperry/Tulsa, is back on after a few days of dead carrier or no carrier --- regional Mexican music, presumably resuming `La Picuda` syndication out of LÁ, still past 1710 UT altho I missed any non-IDs circa hourtop (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PUNTLAND [and non]. 13800, May 13 at 1307, JBA carrier presumably R. Puntland, but QRM from stronger intruder on 13798-USB, 2-way in colloquial Spanish! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SUDAN [and non]. 11645, May 13 at 0522, very poor signal here, presumed R. Dabanga via VATICAN, while the tone jammer is JBA still on 11650.

13800, May 13 at 0524, Dabanga is fair with flutter here via MADAGASCAR, along with usual 2-tone jamming, Dab cuts off at 0527.5* while the tone jammers remain. I was looking for the MAD/VATICAN overlap, but it seems the MUF is too down for Europe tonight, hardly even making 11 MHz.

However, by 0529 I am hearing the VR IS on 13765, which is for Portuguese via MADAGASCAR, not direct. This may explain why Dabanga has to finish up the third third of its morning sesquihour via SMG on 13800 --- if Talata has to use the same transmitter for VR itself on 13765 from 0530. The azimuths and antenna types are different, however (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1340, May 13 at 0512 UT, talk about astronomy, sounds familiar regular segment, and proves // but 15 seconds ahead of KMOX 1120, so it`s `Overnight America`, now syndicated by Westwood One, but can`t find any affiliate list at WW1, and streaming aggregators are worse than nothing tho get top search hits. While atop the graveyard QRM, this seems to be roughly from NE/SW, which implies MO or TX, or maybe KS if nothing further. The only 1340 WW1 affil in those states per the NRC AM Log 2014-2015 is KLID Poplar Bluff MO, which is more like east of here in the SE corner. Scatterbrain website http://www.klidradio.com/ shows mix of nostalgic music and talk, ranging from Jim Hightower to Herman Cain, but no plain old program schedule which might show ONA (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
