** COLOMBIA. 6034-6051 approx., peaking around 6042, Dec 19 at 0220, extremely distorted FMy blob of overmodulated music sounding Cuban, but can`t match it to RHC English or Spanish frequencies, nor anything on 49m, nor a twin spur, nor Cubans on 60m. Slightly more intelligible in JRC`s FM mode, so I keep listening. Quick YL announcement at 0222; another one between tunes at 0227 as La Voz de tu Conciencia! It`s S9+5 here, far more than it ever manages on proper 6010v when in AM. Now on that channel there`s a JBA carrier from algo, but it`s not off-frequency. Is HJDH just way out of whack or attempting something new? The other HJDH on 5910.3 is also on, in AM, almost holding its own against het from Romania 5910.0 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. 17430, Dec 18 at 1436, JBA, but enough mod to make a match with 17730 RHC, i.e. leapfrog of that over the other 16m transmitter 17580 further 150 kHz lower (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** GUATEMALA. 4055, Dec 18 at 1300, R. Verdad is still audible with hymn, S6-S8, well before our sunrise of 1338, heading toward its latest of 1343 in two or three weeks; while Chiquimula`s was 1217, heading toward 1228 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** KIRITIMATI. 846, Dec 18 at 0629, JBA but steady carrier from R. Kiribati.. Walt Salmaniw in Victoria BC says he is ``seeing`` it as early as 0300ish.. Now visiting Hawaii, Gary DeBock tells IRCA Dec 17:
``846-Christmas Island is by far the strongest DU here in Kona, but it seems to have a serious issue with the transmitter cutting out intermittently. It did this about 3 times last night. I recall that Bryan Clark of NZ also mentioned that the signal was gone on one of the recent days -- maybe the same issue? The 19-second delay with 1440-Kiribati also seems pretty bizarre, but it was checked repeatedly last night and confirmed. Both 846 and 1440-Kiribati are easy catches here in Kona, so the delayed programming is pretty obvious. Wish you guys were here -- 80 degrees F today! Gary`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** NEW ZEALAND. 7390, Dec 18 at 1304, RNZI on another new frequency, as predicted a few days ago, news about Nauru refugees, 1308 into `Dateline Pacific`. It`s S9 to S9+10, and no QRM, co-, or adjacent-. So improved over ex-7430 which lasted a few days after Radio Martí and Cuban jamming moved in on ex-ex-7355; but was still adjacent to another Cuban radio war on 7435.. Own sked now shows in part:
``1259-1650 7390 Pacific Daily from 18 Dec
1651-1750 7285(DRM)Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga Sun-Fri
1651-1758 7430 Pacific Sat from 9 Dec``
So they are keeping 7430 for the Saturday-only extension (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1908 monitoring: not confirmed, UT Tue Dec 19 at 0030 on 9330v-CUSB, NO signal from WBCQ. This time may be blamed on propagation, as 9265 WINB and even 9370 WWRB are JBA, while 9395 WRMI remains VG with its southern advantage. However, WWV report does not show any disturbance:
``Solar-terrestrial indices for 18 December follow.
Solar flux 72 and estimated planetary A-index 17.
The estimated planetary K-index at 0000 UTC on 19 December was 1.
No space weather storms were observed for the past 24 hours.
No space weather storms are predicted for the next 24 hours.``
Likewise 7730 WRMI is VG on this day, UT Tue when it is really radiating WOR at 0030. Next:
Tue 2030 WRMI 11580 to NE, 9455 to WNW, 7780 to NE
Tue 2130 WRMI 9455 to WNW [or #1909?]

** U S A. 1710, Dec 18 at 0630 UT, screaming Spanish gospel huxter, so that`s typical Retén lo que Tienes spewage from the Bâton Rouge LA pirate, poor signal (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
