** ARGENTINA. 11710.45, May 10 at 0041, RAE is S5 with tango, tonight`s variable
frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** AUSTRALIA. 9580, May
9 at 1244 check, RA is back on; same transmitter was also reported reactivated
after 21 UT May 8 on 17840 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

ETHIOPIA [non]. 17765, Sunday May 8 at 1730 check, no signal from the new
clandestine which was supposed to broadcast weekly at this time and was reported
heard 168 hours earlier --- Ivo Ivanov in Bulgaria also reports ``no signal``
this week, of Radio Front for Independence of Oromo. And there were no other
reports of it despite my reminder shortly beforehand. At 1757 a strong carrier
cuts on and off, presumably WHRI about to start BSing at 1800.
Kai Ludwig
did say this: ``At least some older broadcasts, one of them dating back to the
B15 days, showing their impressive audio engineering skills:``

OKLAHOMA. RF 23, ``52``, KSBI-TV OKC, Sunday May 8 at 2308 UT, suddenly switches
from own programming to `60 Minutes` from CBS already in progress, as KWTV RF
39, ``9`` just got around to making the change to its sub-station during severe
storm coverage, causing us to miss the first 8 minutes of the program. Tnx a
lot!
Next day May 9, more tornados across Oklahoma (but not Enid) caused
blowing away all regular programming from at least 21 UT on the Big 3 OKC
stations. This time, all of them manage to get network news at 2230 UT on the
air via their sub-stations: NBC on KAUT 40 ``43``; CBS on KSBI 23 ``52``, and
ABC on KOCO 7 ``5.2`` instead of MeTV (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** U S A. 7258-LSB, May 10 at 0049, as I tune across, huge pileup
of stations trying to contact a ``special event``, W9IMS, who is heard
intervally when they all shut up. Special event of what? Lookup on QRZ.com leads
to The Grand Prix of Indianapolis
big
deal --- and there will be more of this for silly car games later in May, the
`500 and the Brickyard 400. So IMS is vanity for Indianapolis Motor Speedway;
certificates if you follow the rules (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1824 monitoring: confirmed Sunday May 8
at 2331 on WBCQ 9330v-CUSB, but JBA, much weaker than 9265 WINB, 9350 WWCR. NOT
confirmed UT Monday May 9 at 0035 on WRMI 7730 as Radio Slovakia International
in English is playing instead, // 5850 and 11580 which are its only scheduled
frequencies. Unclear whether this is a deliberate change or a mixup. (However,
24 hours later, 7730 is playing scheduled World Music, not RSI.) WOR also
confirmed UT Monday May 9 at 0301 on Area 51 webcast, and presumably on WBCQ
5129.9. Also confirmed UT Monday May 9 at 0336 on WRMI 9955, good S9+10, no
jamming audible. Also confirmed Monday May 9 at 2330 on WBCQ 9329.8-CUSB, fair.
Next:
Tue 1100 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Tue 2130 WRMI 15770 to NE
Tue
2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Wed 1315.5 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Wed 2100 WBCQ
7490v to WSW
Wed 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW

** U S A. 11580, Monday May 9 at 1310-1335+, I`m
enjoying World Music from WRMI, at first some unfamiliar tunes in a wide variety
of genres, starting with some cha-cha-cha; by 1337 the familiar ``Up2 &
Away``, and 1342 Qur`an, which is legitimately treated as music in a broader
sense. This hour is reliably scheduled for World Music, except on Sundays.
Unfortunately, R. Australia, 9580 is also airing w.m. on `Daily Planet` during
same hour Mon-Thu, but with plenty of commentary and music ID by host Lucky
Oceans; easy to switch exactly 2 MHz back and forth on the R75 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 12105, May 10 at 0039, still at 0046
and 0057, dead air from WTWW-3 instead of Bibling Worldwide; while 9475, WTWW-1
is blasting away SFAW as usual; and WTWW-2 is off (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 5050 // 3185, May 10 at 0053, WWRBs are again
in // playing Dave`s favorite, Big Band music --- and no BS! 9370 remains off.
BTW the storm noise level on 90m is S9+20, from adjacent counties to the north
and east, including some tornados.
So what does TOM SW schedule say about
WWRB?
Still
on there, 3185 and ``9385``, a frequency WWRB abandoned years ago as soon as
WTJC self-destructed on preferable 9370. Yet this sked already has corrected
WRMI 6915 to 6855! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
