EWTN: shortwave radio operator searching

REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering
LOCATION: (Vandiver, AL)

OVERVIEW:

This position executes audio handling and monitoring of the shortwave radio on-air system.
Assists in operation of the transmitters, associated electronic and mechanical equipment in accordance with the EWTN broadcast schedule.

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY WILL LOOK LIKE:

• Monitor audio output of all feeds being broadcast.
• Manually and automatically tune 500kw transmitters.
• Maintain daily program schedules and FCC transmitter logs.
• Execute operating instructions & perform technical assignments.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, fault isolation and program analysis.
• Assist Senior Operator in technical assignments.
• Assume all responsibilities when handling transmitters according to FCC laws and regulations.

WHAT SKILLS/TALENTS WILL THE IDEAL CANDIDATE POSSESS?

Radio Broadcasting experience | Training in AC and DC fundamentals | Knowledge of relevant broadcast equipment, policies, procedures & regulations | Computer literate | Tech Savvy | Team player | Strong organizational skills | Attention to detail | High School diploma or GED | Technical school degree or certification in Electronics, Broadcasting preferred
