Transmitter Engineer Job Vacancy at Woofferton

As part of the engineering team to maintain cost effective performance and operations of all broadcast/communications equipment to agreed standards and Key Performance Indicators.

Principal Responsibilities:

To carry out all operational and maintenance work on transmitters and associated equipment as part of the engineering team.

Investigate equipment performance deficiencies and devise solutions to effect improvements.

To maintain technical and administrative records and provide information as required.

To give technical support and work independently on specialist projects as required

When required produce reports on all matters associated with equipment performance including analysis of trends in order to assist in long term planning.
In the absence of an SE. to be responsible for all the operational and maintenance work of the engineering team, and to be the main point of contact for senior management, customers, contractors, and the general public for all matters effecting transmitter site performance.

To carry out lone working duties at appropriate sites, in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours at short notice


Experience/Knowledge:

Engineer qualified. HND/HNC/NVQ4 or equivalent.

Comprehensive knowledge of current safe working practices and safety procedures.

A knowledge of electronic, electrical, ICT, R.F. and power engineering.

Minimum 2 year's practical experience of transmitter station operation and maintenance work.

Able to undertake standby duties and shift work as required.

Basic workshop skills including hand and power tools.

A full UK driving licence.

Senior High Voltage authorisation beneficial but not essential
