** BOLIVIA. 5935, Oct 27 at 2326, JJBA carrier even weaker than 5980 Perú, perhaps Radio Yura; same at 2357 before WWCR blasts on at *2358:49; but could also be Tibet. Do South Americans find Yura consistently on the air? Soon won`t matter for us, as WWCR earlies its opening for B-17 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BRAZIL. 9514.96, Oct 27 at 2345, very poor S5-S7 off-frequency signal, probably Brasil. Seldom heard here compared to others on 31m, maybe due to limited hours. EiBi shows Rádio Marumby at 0700-2300 and on 9514.9! Manuel Méndez, Spain reported 9514.9, Radio Marumby, Curitiba, at 2026-2035, 15-10. Other reports: just ``9515``: as logged by Carlos Gonçalves, Oct 13 at 2142-2153. WRTH 2017 also listed R. Marumby, ZYE726 on 9515, but no hours given.
However, current NDXC/Aoki names 9515 instead R. Novas de Paz, still from Curitiba PR with ZYE726 calls, 10 kW at 310 degrees across Brasil, and should be good for us beyond. I vaguely recall that Marumby may have changed its name/been sold for all frequencies, but only one source now has the different name. We need to quote how they axually ID now. See 9666.13 log where I did hear Marumby mentioned on another station.
What else could be on 9515? For HFCC, all the Brazilian SW stations are non-existent, but there is a wooden DHA/UAE listed at 2030-2400, and CNR Beijing at 2055-2400; Aoki says it`s CNR2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BRAZIL. 9666.13, Oct 27 at 2347, Brazuguese talk and music, 2359 mentions Radio Marumby in passing, maybe program source about the alfabet, for this is R. Voz Missionária, SC. Now varied up higher after a spell close to 9665.9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** GUAM. 11540, Oct 27 at 1401, YL in unknown language utters ``AWR`` with English letters, gospel-sounding songs, S9. It`s KSDA, 1400-1430 in Asho Chin, 100 kW, 285 degrees from Agat, per NDXC/Aoki. EiBi lists Chin-Asho as spoken by only a myriad of people in the Arakan Hills of Myanmar (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6935-USB, Oct 27 at 2327, pirate music at S9+25; 2318 synthyl with ``Good evening, you are listening to Clever Name Radio . . . clevernameradio@hotmail.com``. Off before next check at 2355.
[nothing from S American pirates this hour on 6973, 6925 or 5825] (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** PERU [and non]. 4764+, Oct 27 at 2328, JBA carrier, presumed R. Huanta Dos Mil, vs CODAR but which is also weak at this spot; no improvement, nor any expected by 2357 when it`s also getting a het from another very weak signal on 4765.0, presumably Tajikistan but which supposedly signs on at 2300 for a 21-hour, 100 kW ND broadcast (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** PERU. 5980, Oct 27 at 2325, JBA carrier from R. Chaski, Urubamba, until autocutoff at 2333:30.5*, i.e. 13.5 seconds later than another binite ago, Oct 25 until 2333:17*, or averaging 6.75 seconds later per. Hope to make one more check Oct 28, hoping Romania have not yet started B-17 English at 23-24 on 5980, altho it`s after midnight Oct 29 there (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** SAUDI ARABIA. 9675, Oct 27 at 2012, ``Salaam Aleikum`` and fanfare, very poor S8-S7, but it must not be Arabic, since BSKSA Turkish is scheduled here, 1800-2057, 500 kW overkill, 340 degrees from Riyadh and USward. 9870, BSKSA in Arabic at 310 degrees is also in and not unusual (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** SAUDI ARABIA. 11745, Oct 27 at 1303, ME music, S9-S7 with heavy flutter, 1311 YL announcements in Arabic, 1319 bit of patriotic/militaristic music and recitation, back to a song. No ID heard, but surely the new SA military service Al-Azm, ``Determination`` for forces near Yemen.
Similar to signal on 11860, the Yemeni service, so could easily be from same site Riyadh or Jeddah ---- but by 1347, 11745 is weakening and 11860 is strengthening to S9+20. By 1359 even weaker by comparison; 1456 recheck, both are JBA carriers. One report had it on 11745.4, but I did not notice it being off-frequency. Meanwhile, 15380, the BSKSA buzzy service is S5-S8 at 1347 and weaker than both (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 13556, Oct 27 at 1349, HIFER beacon ID ``WV`` sent about 11 times per minute, JBA CW vs CODAR. First time I`ve heard this one, and no others audible now on either side of 13560. LWCA list has it:
``13555.830~ WV Richwood W Virginia EM95rf 5wpm CW; WA8YWO (2017/08)``

** U S A. 5985, Oct 27 at 0540 check, African music, so this extended hour from WRMI is now playing World Music, instead of Brother Scare or Brother Walker (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 3264.89v, Oct 28 at 0000, the new WBCQ is on as `Allan Weiner Worldwide` is opening with ``William Tell Overture``, poor S5-S8, but definitely audible and // 7490, or rather 7489.99 as measured at 0107. While I`m at it, the third WBCQ AWW is on 5130.36. Show starts with AW and Timtron reminiscing. Lowest channel has some hets, but may be NRDies here. Or maybe not. Over to John Carver, Mid-North Indiana for the rest of the story as I missed all the excitement:
``Tonight's show started on time this evening. TimTron and Angela were in the studio with Allan. Talk this evening was about when Tim and Allan first actually broadcast into a real transmitter. Allen started at thirteen and that was the also the first time he blew up a transmitter.
Pirate Joe called in and reported that 3265 was down. TimTron left to check it out. Allan put some music on and left to join Tim in the transmitter building. First time I can recall that happening. Allan back on the radio at 0025. They said they'd fixed the transmitter and continued on with a phone call. JP called in again and reported another problem with the transmitter. They proceeded to troubleshoot the problem from the studio while talking to JP on the phone while they flipped various switches and such trying to isolate the problem. Second problem was determined to be the phone line so no fix for that other than replacing the phone line.
This caused Allan to mention that there had been another problem with that transmitter earlier that week that he noticed when he was doing an inspection. Part had come loose and was dangling by its wires in front of the blower. Allan moved the part and bridged over a partial break in the line with a jumper and vowed to fix the problem this week. Reading of emails began at 0103 and early in the emails was one that stated that not only did WBCQ broadcast on a shoestring, they also tracked down problems and repaired them on the air while we listened in. Show was off the air at 0141`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
UNIDENTIFIED. 13448.24-USB, Oct 27 at 1354, 2-way in Spanish vs CODAR, including yawns, laughing; 1356 mentions ``puta-madre``. Altho it`s hard for me to understand anything else, I *never* hear anything resembling an ID from these, intruders or not. Assuming most are Mexican, are there any regulations or enforcement? There sure are plenty concerning broadcasters in that country (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
