** CUBA. 11830 // 11850, May 25 at 0136, RHC very weak spurs, yet enough audio
to definitely match Spanish to 11670, 11760 and 11840 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** EGYPT. 9315, May 25 at 0120, R. Cairo regales us
tonight with extremely distorted talk modulation, presumably Spanish, at S9+25;
but no spur nearby, nor any // audible in the 12s.
9965.13, May 25 at
0125, R. Cairo in undermodulated but recognizable Arabic, with a bit of whine,
amounting to S9+25 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** OKLAHOMA.
91.7, May 24 at 1945-1946 UT, KOSU interrupts `The World` for: EAS tones, a
minute of dead air, and EAS tones again. Tnx a lot! Has EAS screwed up again,
and is there some emergency around Stillwater? It`s nice here in Enid. I turn on
the TV and find there sure is: tornado warning just north of the city, but KOSU
listeners only get a hint of it. All 4 OKC TV stations are covering it with
their storm chasers on ground and in the air. How about other FM? Only a few
stations outside OKC are relaying KFOR-27 ``4``: 88.5, 89.7, 90.5, 98.5, i.e.
the House stations. They quickly withdraw when KFOR inserts an ad. Not even KSPI
93.7, the major commercial station in Stillwater, is in storm coverage. Tsk2.
Fortunately, the torment moves off to the east, and later impacts the Tulsa area
after depositing 10-cm hailstones upon Cushing (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** PERU. 5980, May 25 at 0102, again no signal detectable from R.
Chaski, altho we have hi storm noise level (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. May 25 at 0110 I hold my nose and
monitor two Brother HyStairical frequencies which are not //, but turn out to be
merely unsynchronized, alternating the BS rasp with voices of callers. 7490-,
WBCQ is timed running 15 seconds behind 7570, WRMI (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGST)
** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1826 monitoring: NOT confirmed
Tuesday May 24 at 2130 on WRMI 15770, since that transmitter is off the air ---
no trace of it, altho it is never strong and always undermodulating. WRMI is
inbooming on 15440, 13695, audible on 17790. Same 15770 transmitter is on 7780
at night, and at 0109 UT May 25 check, it is S9+25 BS, yet undermodulated and
sounding only poor with storm noise. WOR confirmed Tue May 24 at 2330 on WBCQ
9329.9-CUSB, good (recheck at 0101* it`s about 9329.88) Next:
Wed 1315.5 WRMI
9955 to SSE
Wed 2100 WBCQ 7490v to WSW
Wed 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to
WSW
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 11580, UT Wed
May 25 at 0133, the voice of Jonathan Marks interviewing someone about DW and
BBC, presumably archival, on Media Network Plus, normally a half-hour show, as
scheduled for a full hour on WRMI; poor-fair signal (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 17775, May 24 at 2006, KVOH with gospel music
is still on air more than an hour after nominal 1900* (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** UZBEKISTAN. 9900, May 25 at 0125, South Asian song
at S6, 0130 brief announcement, TWR IS once and off*. HFCC shows TWR ``India``
via Tashkent, and Aoki shows on Wednesdays (as well as Sun-Mon-Tue) it`s Dzo,
a.k.a. Bhutanese, while on Thursdays only it`s Nepali. EiBi says the 0115-0130
segment is rather Tue in Hindi, Wed in Bhutanese, Thu in Nepali. IIRC this is
the transmission which escaped 9975 leaving that to KVOH, which is currently
silent installing a different transmitter (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
UNIDENTIFIED. 1480, May 25 at 0105 UT, S9 dead air dominates,
probably KBXD Dallas rather than KQAM Wichita (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
