Glenn Hauser logs April 11-12, 201

** CUBA. 6165, April 12 at 0428, RHC still back on old frequency, ex-6180, so apparently a deliberate reversion, and applicable before 0500. It`s just barely modulated, so what difference does it make? Recheck at 0615: 6165 S9/S9+10 and JBM; 6100 S8-S4 also JBM; 6060 S9/S9+10 with sufficient mod; 6000 S9+10/20 and suff. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 13740, April 12 at 1358, RHC with clix, or rather intermittent carrier dropouts, weaker than // 13700 without dropouts. At 1400, 13740 goes to dead air, when the transition to CRI English relay is supposed to occur; no dropouts so transmitter change apparently succeeded; but cuts off the air at 1402:35*. *1404:25 cuts on with RHC music, undermodulated, not CRI English! It`s `Sonido Cubano`, good show of songs seemingly non-propagandistic respite, so I keep listening to detect when, if ever, CRI English come up.

13740, 1431:40, smooth transition from `Sonido` to CRI English just as `Roundtable` is starting, rather inane chat show. Transmission break at 1432:55*-*1433:15, as I quit listening.

9570, meanwhile, the CRI English relay supposed to end at 1400, is still going at 1408, S9-S6 and undermodulated with squeals on the sidebands; off by 1418. Somethings` always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NIGERIA [non]. 7415, April 12 at 0620, S8-S9+10 talk in African language about Boku Haram. At 06-07 only, this is supposed to be R. Ndarason International, via ASCENSION, per NDXC/Aoki (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1925 monitoring: confirmed Wednesday April 11 at 2100 on WBCQ, 7490.05v, S7-S9. Should be at same time on WRMI 9955, but NOT on the air! Has come up at 2104 with WOR in progress and not synchronized with weaker WBCQ. Such are the risks of being the very first program on any given transmission. NOT confirmed Wed Apr 11 at 2330 on WBCQ 9330v-CUSB, still off the air completely. Next, maybe:

** U S A. 9455, Wed Apr 11 at 2100, WRMI with something in German! Could it be RAE? No, just a brief announcement in the otherwise English FG Radio, which has another travelogue episode, about England. At least this frequency is on the air, unlike 9955 not yet for WORLD OF RADIO (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5950, April 12 at 0618, ``I Don`t Get No – Satisfaxion`` song is playing, hardly to be expected from the Radio Dandal Kura or Ethiopia! O, RDK is now supposed to be on 11910 via France. 0622, WRMI ID by Bob Biermann, claiming to be on 9395 only --- what does he know? So the Oldies service has shown up on this new frequency which is supposed to be off the air between 0200 and 1100! It`s S6-S7 as always weak here, aimed southward, but at this hour better than very poor 9395 & 9455 which are supposedly still Oldies. 5/6/7 MHz band is certainly needed if overnight broadcasts from Okee are to be audible with minimal MUFs. Will this show up on sked, or just an experiment or error? Not yet (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5830, April 12 at 1404, WTWW is still going with PPPP on night frequency, but cut off at 1406*. Day frequency 9475 still has not cut on by 1418 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
