Glenn Hauser logs December 27, 2015

** CUBA. 6100, Sunday Dec 27 at 0715, VG RHC confirmed in weekly Esperanto tacked-on semihour, all other frequencies now correctly off (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NIGERIA. 9689.9, Dec 27 at 0702, VON in French with schedule announcement, fair; at 0711 check, nothing on 7255- (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7730, Sunday Dec 27 at 0713, WRMI-13 is open carrier/dead air at S9+30, while 5850, WRMI-12, is OK with a gospel huxter, not // 9395 with excerpts from Handel`s ``Messiah``. Before 0700 all three are with Son Power Radio (a.k.a. TruNews), but on Mondays only (not Sundays), 7730 is scheduled for `In Christ We Live` for another hour until 08; while on Sundays only, 5850 is extended, changing at 0700 to `Worship in your Home` for two hours (and then, WORLD OF RADIO at 0900 – did anyone hear it?), while 9395, WRMI-6 is 24/7 TruNews.

I *think* #6 is the old Wilkinson transmitter, the original WRMI moved in from Hialeah, ex-Radio Clarín, quite an historic unit. BTW, WRMI-1 is shown on the grid also on 7730, except no entries. One other transmitter with no usage at all currently is #5 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1390, Dec 27 at 1354 UT I find that local KCRC Enid is off! No severe winter storm has hit us yet. An improvement over mere dead air they were broadcasting for hours a few nights ago, so what else can I get? Just after sunrise (if we could see it!), so some skywave still. NW/SE gets some C&W music, later at 1350 UT blues with YL singer and piano; NE/SW gets something talking. I have to turn on a VCR by 1355 UT in preparation for CBS Sunday Morning (which KWTV has shifted to KSBI due to continuous winter storm coverage on main channel), and the VCR radiates blocking noise on the NW/SE angle.

So I keep on the NE/SW station, can`t pull any IDs but 1400 UT Fox ``News``, 1405 UT national ad with 800 number, 1406 UT into `Smart Living with Larry Ahrens` from BizTalk Radio. Says the show originates in Albuquerque. I do find that on the BizTalk pdf schedule grid (due for changes in January), for this hour on Sundays, via
but the ``affiliate resources`` do not include any list of them! Proprietary info, I suppose. Unfortunately, neither BizTalk network, nor Ahrens show are among those referenced in the 2016 NRC AM Log. Nothing specific about affiliates searching on his name; he`s an alumnus of KKOB 770.

1390, KJPW, Waynesville MO, looks to be the very likely source, in fact called `The Source` in NRC AM Log, affiliated with Fox news, but can`t find an own website as it`s insignificant among a sextet of co-stations at

It`s our `next` 1390 station to the northeast. Unlike very direxional KCRC, KJPW is ND day and night, 5000/111 watts, PSRA 500, but now it`s definitely Day. The two 1390s in Arkansas are both Spanish.

As for the music station on 1390, these two are most likely by proximity and listed format: KNCK, Concordia KS, OLD; KBEC, Waxahachie TX, C&W - Texas Classic Music. By 1625 UT check, KCRC is back on, shux (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** YEMEN [non]. 11860, Dec 27 at 1340, R. Sana`a is in well with Arabic discussion; 1435 I`m back during rousing music at S9+20 with some IADs, standing by for this evening`s Maghrib, Call To Prayer interruption, which happens at: 1441:17, also audiblizing IBB Kuwait R. Ashna *still* underneath. This is 9 seconds earlier than yesterday, while it should be a few seconds later. Will Allah get `em for that? 11860 is still S9+10 at 1516 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
