Glenn Hauser logs February 25-26, 2015

** BANGLADESH. 15505, Feb 26 at 1358:55, BB IS starts, mistimesignal ends earlier at 1359:19, opening theme for Urdu service; very poor (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** BRAZIL. 11747 & 11813, Feb 26 at 0627, crackling spurs of 11780.1v, RNA/RNB are still audible (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. CNR1 jammers morning of Feb 26:
9155, Feb 26 at 1353, CNR1 jammer, very good with flutter; but not in synch with the next two

9230, Feb 26 at 1353, CNR1 jammer, very good with flutter

9350, Feb 26 at 1353, CNR1 jammer, fair and synch with 9230 not 9155

No full bandscan until next hour, starting with:

12910, Feb 16 at 1438, CNR1 jammer, very good; none in the 17s, 14s, 11s, 10s, 8s, but:

13665, Feb 26 at 1439, CNR1 jammer, fair // 12910

9680, Feb 26 at 1443, CNR1 jammer, good, not much victim QRM now

9605, Feb 26 at 1444, CNR1 jammer, good but not synch with others

9530, Feb 26 at 1445, CNR1 jammer, poor

7445, Feb 26 at 1446, CNR1 jammer, fair with CCI, not synch 12910

7385, Feb 26 at 1446, CNR1 jammer, good, only echo apart from 12910

6145, Feb 26 at 1447, CNR1 jammer, very poor but // 12910

17585, Feb 26 at 1449, CNR1 jammer, poor

15745, Feb 26 at 1449, CNR1 jammer, fair // 12910
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15700, Feb 26 at 1400, no CRI English relay audible, just crackling audio, until JIP news at 1401, crackle still audible underneath. Likewise on 15370 RHC Spanish. Wiggle those patchcords? Or something more serious, like antenna wires flapping, shorting in the breeze (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EQUATORIAL GUINEA [non]. 17790, Feb 26 at 1404, Brother Scare instead of Radio Africa Network on this WRMI frequency, // and synch with intentional BS on 15770, 11825. Still the same at 1433, 1450 chex. Mistaken feed, or backup, default? RAN also deliberately subcontracts BS at certain other hours, but normally hear their own programming now. Ivo Ivanov, Blgaria also noted this until RAN resumed at 1600 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GUATEMALA. 4055-, Feb 26 at 0619, R. Verdad carrier is unusually still on, slightly on the lo side after normal (exc UT Mon) sign-off circa 0609*. So I did log them on remnant of Feb 25, which is the 15th anniversary of their first broadcast, one sesquidecade ago.

Dr Madrid is really getting into ``TV`` = web video and provides this announcement:
which says their quinceañera celebration will axually be on Sat Feb 28 starting at 2300 UT until 0330 UT [March 1]. Then we may hear something special on 4055 and webcast (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GUYANA. 3290-, Feb 26 at 0621, VOG is on but very poor, some modulation, presumably usual BBCWS relay (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KUWAIT. 21540, Feb 26 at 1358, R. Kuwait still AWOL for at least the third day, while 21505 Saudi is audible; also no 21540 later in the 14 UT hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PHILIPPINES. 9400, Feb 26 at 1349, Chinese from FEBC is back on-frequency, making only a fast SAH with Voice of Kurdistan, instead of a horrible het 300-500 Hz above it for the last week. This may well result from Wolfgang Büschel notifying BRB`s Ludo Maes, broker of VOK, about the problem suggesting he lean on FEBC to fix it. But will it stay fixed? It`s happened before. An even better idea: don`t even try to share 9400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9475 // 9930, Wed Feb 25 at 2025, unusually the two operable WTWW transmitters are duplicating (while 12105 still off), preëmpting dead gospel-huxtering from Laporte for live(?) coverage of the National Religious Broadcasters annual convention in Nashville, Ted interviewing someone. At 2242 recheck, still // but now with hymnmusic. Con runs from 23 to 26 Feb, so maybe even more the next day (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 750, Feb 26 at 1322 UT, talk in English from ENE/WSW, which rules out KAMA, much wanted Okie KSEO, KMMJ, nor even WSB this late, tho the Chicagoans are still in such as 780 vs KSPI, 1000 WMVP vs KTOK. That leaves KBNN Lebanon MO, 5 kW daytimer, which I also presumably logged on Feb 14 last year around the same time. 1323 UT this year goes on to discuss Led Zeppelin (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 860, Feb 26 at 1331 UT, KKOW Pittsburg KS is finishing the ``Slap Happy Polka``, on its weekdaily spot, `Polka Time`. This is mentioned on the Wikipedia page about KKOW: ``the morning polka (7:30 daily with birthday dedications, sponsored by Grimaldi's Cash Grain feedstore in Pittsburg)``.

BTW, polka fans with access to the RFD-TV channel may audition Molly Bee`s polka hour UT Sundays at 0300-0400, and another episode midweeks  (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1050, Feb 26 at 1332 UT, ``Newstalk 1050, KSIS and also KSISradio.com`` IDs twice in less than a minute, i.e. 1 kW ND from Sedalia MO, overcoming the Okies.

I had also just heard 950, KWOS Jefferson City MO, 5 kW ND also newstalk (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1300, Feb 26 at 1341 UT, funeral announcements mentioning Marshall, Richmond and Sedalia, i.e. KMMO Marshall MO, 1 kW ND (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
